After discovering him over 20 years ago I'm delighted that my intellectual biography of James Harrington has finally appeared. @OUPAcademic @BritishAcademy_ My journey to this point is detailed in my blog: Thanks to all who helped me along the way.

This month’s blog post marks the 10th anniversary since my husband’s death and draws a perhaps surprising conclusion from reflecting on our experience of the NHS at that time.

@GaryScribbler Thank you for your posts - I have been a fan for a long time. Your drawings often strike a chord due to the similarities between your family's experiences and mine. Could you follow me? I have a request and would prefer to make it via a private message.

Yesterday Team Gurney completed the Geordie Double challenge (walking Hadrian’s Wall + running the Great North Run within the space of a few weeks). We also doubled our target for @maggiesne So proud of the Team and grateful to all who donated and/or supported us along the way.

As we prepare for Tuesday's workshop on Memories of the British Revolutions, this month's blogpost reflects on a workshop held in July that explored a similar theme via the lens of Edmund Ludlow's memoirs. @thehistorywoman @CGraffeuille @katherineaeast

First part of Team Gurney’s Geordie Double challenge completed! Only the GNR to go. We’ve pretty much walked a half marathon - or more - every day for 6 days so how hard can it be? Thanks to @maggiesne @katherineaeast & other family & friends who supported us along the way.

The Geordie Double begins! We set off on our Hadrian’s Wall Walk today by walking from Bowness-on-Solway to Carlisle. Raising money for @MaggiesCentres and walking in memory of John Gurney. Thanks to everyone who has sponsored us and to @maggiesne for their support.
