@TrashSocrates Last few episodes are mostly looking at the inner worlds of the characters, which I liked more than the mech battles, but they do get pretty info-dumpy with backstories. End of Evangelion covers most of the pre-show lore and all the mythical symbolism. Haven't watched Revival.

What I've read of objectivism certainly doesn't hold empathy as an ethical standard, although Rand and others have definitely supported social self-interest.
