@NotTodayJoe @RichardHanania They are likely measuring the density of restaurants relative to population density. A Manhattan Taco Bell serves a lot more customers than a Taco Bell in Tyler, TX. You would find more fast food restaurants per person in a relatively well-off, car-based US suburb than Manhattan.
