Agree with this. Great music doesn’t follow an arc towards recognition and has often sunk like a stone including on the Internet’s watch. Spotify gives Urban Outfitters-style curation when you’re aware of all the milieus that wont ever be part of that model.
it's good to remind yourself that some of the best music you've never heard does not exist on streaming services. the people archiving that music on youtube, soulseek etc., are heaven sent and it's so worth searching for gems outside of the usual places
