People in Chennai who can't afford to fill their bike petrol tanks, who resort to 50rs, 70rs refills know how empathetic the commoners of this city are, especially when their bikes run out of petrol in the middle of the night. Swiggy/Zomato/Dunzo guys, despite being exhausted beyond wits from riding all day, would voluntarily offer help to tow your bike for 2-3km before you find a petrol station. Such is their compassion. Today it went one step above. In broad daylight my bike ran out of petrol, I didn't have a bottle, I didn't know where the nearest source of petrol is. A kadakaranna walked to his shop in the other street, brought his scooter, took me to a cycle shop to get oil can, drove to a petrol station 2km from the point, and drove me back. Before I could thank him fully, he said "paathu popa thambi" with a smile and left in lightning speed. These are faces you want to remember the city with.
