I wrote for the Guardian about how Macronism, a political project that served only the ultra rich and the professional class offers us a glimpse into Starmer's future if they continue to open the party to lobbying, consultants and big business.
Nowhere in this article is there any actual evidence about LFI's supposed antisemitism just references to "comments that many French jews and others have described as antisemitic". Nor is there any interview with the antizionist jews who support LFI.
Ahead of France’s elections, I spoke with over a dozen members of French Jewish communities.
Many say they’re grappling with tough choices & feel caught between extremes amid concern about rising antisemitism.

Labour are polling so far ahead of the Tories that we should surely interepret their statements not as manoeuvres (which would be bad because politicians shouldn't lie) but as statements of intent. No ceasefire? Ok that's what you want. Praise Thatcher? That's what you believe.

If the left of the left in Labour have any sense of their own political survival, this will be their Reims congress moment. They're outnumbered, with no room to maneouvre in the party, just like Mélenchon was...

No we're not, which is why you shouldn't write that it's them if you don't know.
No one owes you a comment, it's irritating I get it, but your mistake is yours not theirs.
What the green surge, independent victories, Corbyn re-elected, IDS keeping his seat and the majorities of some Lab MPs being reduced to a wafer, suggests to me is that if the left had got its act together and formed a party they might have a bigger toehold in Westminster rn.
That the key actors in the scandal are the Sun, BBC, and the Met, highlights the void of trust in the British state/civil society. There are good reasons to distrust all these institutions. BBC and Met have appalling records WRT to taking sexual abuse seriously and the Sun 1/2
How many outlets reported on Salman Abedie's involvement with the British security state prior to the Manchester bombing? We have the D Notice committee openly censoring natsec reporting - it's hardly a conspiracy theory to suggest that info is withheld on terror attacks.
This is horrifying. A third of the public, completely lost to reason, believing in plot-myths which have racism at their heart.
Barely more than a quarter understanding that these things are absolutely false.
I think a lot about something I heard

On France's politics of drought.
As the drought intensifies, so will sabotage from activists and the reactive crackdowns from the state.
The grim incuriosity of political hacks in the face of hundreds of holocaust scholars sounding the alarm about ongoing genocide, and the evidence of their eyes - a state liquidating a captive population - really is something to behold.
I hate journalists whining about journalism publicly, but am increasingly becoming one so sorry for that
But quite a lot of people in commissioning positions are mourning Vice. "How will young people get into the industry now?!" I don't know perhaps *you* could commission them?
French media approaching Simon Heffer levels of hysteria and stoking fear among an ethnic minority. For him it was "Corbyn wants to reopen Auschwitz" for BFM it's "Mélenchon in power: the end for jews?"
Existe-t-il un moyen de faire cesser ce niveau d'ignominie ? Reste-t-il un seul journaliste digne de la charte de Munich à BFM pour s'opposer à cette forme de diffamation ?

We'll see, the RN war of position is still well underway, the left, capacious as it is, and a far right that now also contains Les Republicains both took chunks out of Macronism. The struggle for hegemony isn't over and Le Pen can still point to score increases and more MPs.
this could really fuck Le Pen, there will be backlash from the fascist hardcore of the FN that have had to eat shit over the past few years in a quest for electoral respectability. and for what. to let the reds in.

I think it would be helpful if journalists tried not to frame these questions in terms of moral argument and simply pointed out where the interests and alliances lie.
Readers can make their own moral conclusions, and it would make the journalistic class look less schizophrenic.

Mearsheimer wrote a whole book on it in the US!
In Britain it is also well documented, going back to the creation of the state of Israel!

Well for a start the whole book is basically premised on the idea that some people are, in some essential way, better than others which carries easily into Yarvin's race science etc.
