Nothing is inevitable. Not really.
I've been saying for years that this shift was inevitable. Don't blame Trump for this. It had to happen. Europe is stronger than Russia. China is stronger than anyone. It's simple math.

Having a trust fund is not a disqualification. But there are most certainly too many VCs who shouldn’t be; and they come from all backgrounds.
Venture capital has become the polo of the 21st century for trust fund kids, sad to say.

Underwriting VCs (or founders) is mostly forecasting how they perform over next 10-15 years as people. My framework: resilience, intellectual honesty, critical thinking, judgement.

@chandrarsrikant India has a thriving tech eco-system with plenty of VC funding. No one told them they couldn't do this, they just didn't! Creating a disruptive LLM isn't really the industrial policy of China; some enterprising entrepreneurs and engineers just did it (if the news is accurate).
