@pitdesi @levie Did a tour of BEP when I was in DC. It costs ~7 cents to print a $1 bill and ~17 cents to print a $100 bill. Oddly a few weeks later I was at a diner and the guy across me worked at a company that makes the security strip for $100s.

The Illinois toll road took pennies until it switched to all electronic tolling. Land of Lincoln and all. Penny has existed in part because one PE-owned firm makes all the zinc that is used to produce pennies. Coinstar also benefits.

@pitdesi First thing he has said I agree with. Canada got rid of their $2 bill. One time I went to Canada and the cashier looked at me and said "You haven't been here in a while, have you?" The Canadian $2 bill I had in my foreign currency box had been replaced by a coin. "Toonie"

My favorite thing in the Super Bowl ads: the fine print on the ad with the dragon and the Three Bears that said it was a fantasy world and didn't depict real life. Again, I can't tell you who it was for. Some car company I think.
