$PLTR dev team is at different level.
Few days back, I casually entered an issue on tech community and was not expecting any fix as such because it is not a show stopper.
Day before yesterday, a guy from Palantir asked for few clarifications and I gave steps to reproduce.
What I could do in less than a hour in $PLTR AIP Now platform?
Ingest 7.7 million records of US accidents happened in-between 2016 to 2023 and plot them into a map. I can filter, search, visualize and save explorations.

Now I see an option to switch my $PLTR AIPNow account to Enterprise which will unlock a ton of features. I guess I will get to create publicly accessible sites.
I had the opportunity to attend the $PLTR Buildcamp yesterday in Chicago.
What happened at the event?
Foundry Introduction: The audience was introduced to Foundry, covering pipelines, ontology, workshop, and AIP.
Coding Sessions: Attendees were split into tables based on the

I ran the patent that $PLTR acquired this morning against AIP Logic function and asked LLM to explain in a funny way.

I haven’t seen a single generative AI application in production at enterprise scale that saved tens of millions of dollars other than ones from $PLTR customers.
Most of the apps are around photos, videos and some productivity improvements.

Palantir Foundry/AIP now supports SQL queries. This is a significant development, at least from my perspective, although there hasn't been an official announcement yet. I discovered this feature randomly and confirmed it by checking the release notes. $PLTR

As I continue learning $PLTR AIP Now, I will debunk some myths.
Myth: This could be done somewhere.
Truth: Yes. It could be done somewhere in some form. Here is the end result.
1/n Why Ontologies are Key to Accurate LLM Question Answering
LLMs, trained on vast text data, struggle to grasp the intricate relationships and constraints embedded within structured databases. This limitation hinders their ability to accurately translate natural language
In buildcamp, $PLTR presenter Danny beautifully put in what’s an ontology?
“Ontology is a system of systems”
No matter what your system(s) is/are, ontology is superior to all of them and acts as a source of truth for your org without disturbing any of your existing systems.
I struggled to understand why others can't replicate or copy the ontology. Here's my understanding after using Foundry and attending buildcamp:
Ontology is powered by multiple databases. To replicate something like this, one must integrate features from GraphQL, REST, graph

Peter Thiel never fails to impress with his wisdom. Data wars in the areas like data warehousing, data lakes, lake houses will erode so called Palantir competitors capital. IMO, Palantir is not competing in any of those areas in the way some people think.
He said this on NBC
There is a difference between data sharing, model sharing and solution sharing via the marketplace.
It takes us only so far unless it’s a solution to the actual problem.
$PLTR has made those production ready solutions available, you can get this going on day-1.
One good thing I have noticed in $PLTR AIP Now is simplified billing. It has only 3 categories on high level as foundry compute, ontology volume and foundry usage. Billing is overwhelming in hyper-scalars, we often don't know or confuse what we are paying for.
Developers often get carried away with minor technical problems and forget about major business issues.
In my experience $PLTR AIP doesn’t let me deviate from the end goal.
Power of the platform 🔥
Connected few reddit threads into $PLTR AIP Now and configured AIP logic to generate a quick summary.
Now, I am pretty confident that I can develop something useful. When I tried these LLMs else where, I couldn't trust the end result as it spits new thing every time.

Diagrams and schematics are the lifeblood of industrial organizations. But, their unstructured format makes it hard to quickly search, analyze or action the information.

Here is simple yet powerful usecase for AI/LLMs.
Imagine deploying an AI/LLM in production to handle tasks like processing invoices and performing basic calculations. If your LLM cannot even compare last month's invoices to the current month's, how can you trust its reliability?
Not only is it about security, but also about ease of use. Based on my limited experience with the platform, I can say that you guys did a great job on both of these aspects.

“friction of tools” is real and I see them everyday. Still, a lot of people reluctant to agree that there is a problem and often blame their talent and practices.
There are 3 types of tools out there

> Business Analytics
Often these 3 categories overlap. Providers sell them like their tool can outperform in each of these categories.
