I'm very excited to share that my work with @PresNCM and @joshuaiglaser on S1 representation of reaching is now published in eLife! Thanks to some insightful reviewer comments, I think it's become a much stronger paper now. Begin thread... (1/6)

Learned yesterday about a literal monkey island—they have their own little society there! To be one of the scientists to study them there would be thrilling, in every sense of the word 😬 #SimCo24
*Very* excited to see the last study of my PhD making the cover of @ScienceMagazine on the macaques of @CayoSantiagoPR. We show that ecological disturbances can alter selective pressures on social ties leading to persistent societal changes. 🧵👇

I still can’t process it. He once caught me after a committee meeting to congratulate me. I thought he was talking about a recent paper, but he was talking about my wedding 😬 I was looking forward to catching up at the next conference. My heart goes out to his wife and kids 💔
Sliman was a great friend, as full of life as anyone I know. Terrified of heights (I didn't know it at the time) he went along with my plan to hike an off-limits, unreconstructed part of the Great Wall. Here he is, half-way through and at the end. RIP, Sliman, it was a great run!
