@juliefranks2 They are not unaffected. Listeners have been lost. I worked for BBC Local Radio for decades. Personally I would reverse all the cuts and restore the whole thing. All I’m saying is..the current staff are doing a fantastic job & the public seem to be sticking with them.

@juliefranks2 Hours & therefore share have held up remarkably well given the extent of the cuts. Just trying to be fair.

@PaulKayRadio Couldn’t agree more. But bosses will say that the figures haven’t gone down and local audiences are still being served at the most popular times with money saved being spent on digital services.

@PaulKayRadio This is the standard pattern across the country Paul with the exception of some large cities. 0600-1400 is considered peak time.

@andycomfort Good to see speech services being listened to….and it’s good to see commercial radio launching speech stations in recent years. Community stations seem reluctant to do speech. They could really be the voice of their patch if they get it right.

@GaryMacShow @MikeReadUK Brilliant. I’m always told that TOTP would never work today because of streaming. The world has moved on. Do you agree? Could a weekly show work on BBC1? It would still be a big platform?

@PhilHolbrook1 @BoomRadioUK Agreed. They deserve a much bigger audience. New audience figures on Thursday🤞

@LachlanMain Very few radio risks being taken today. Reality is….most people don’t have a problem with tight playlists, bland schedules etc.🤷♂️

@KingmakerScribe @bbc5live At least they’ve dropped the strangely timed football pod on Friday lunchtime😊. Have you tried @TimesRadio

@ian_radioguy You’re certainly not the first person to tell me that they are 60-65 with no radio station to listen to. Is there an argument for @BoomRadioUK shifting slightly younger?

@MulderPedro Interesting now that Trevor Nelson (R2) & Craig Charles (6Music) are on at the same time.
