Overheard a Christian complaining that the PM had invited an Imam into Parliament to pray with no translation. Had to explain 1. Trevor is the Speaker and made the invite not the PM, 2. The prayer was translated into English, and 3. Other faiths were present in the House.

This week I took 11 bus rides (and missed 2!) over 4 days to get to most of my meetings. It was really really useful to experience riding the bus to get around the city, and chatting to bus users, drivers, and city leaders about changes we need to make. 🚌

I sat on a Polytechnic board for three years under Nats. It was incredibly tough and we were treated as the poor cousins of Unis. They do amazing work in tough environment but system is broken and needs reform. Vocational education too important for Nats to play politics.
