Me at Washington Square park in NYC the morning of 9/11/2001 after both towers were struck by planes which are visible inside the arc. First tower fell a few moments after this photo was taken & watched it fall from the fountain where we used to buy dime bags of weed from Tyrone
Legendary Prostitutes of Bangkok (Rama III-VI) 🪡🧵
1/10
From the mid-1800s to early 1900s, a group of influential women shaped Bangkok’s underworld during the reigns of Kings Rama III to VI. These madams became legends of wealth and power. Here’s a glimpse into their stories 👇
Marayat Andriane, a Thai-French author, is best known for her 1959 erotic novel Emmanuelle, written under the pen name Emmanuelle Arsan, in Bangkok 1964
My poor 15 year old cat. I think he has cancer. Lost so much weight over the last few months. Now weak & submissive compared to the badass he used to be. It sucks watching the people and animals you love grow old and die.
All those farang jumping on the band wagon to shit on apple for portraying bangkok like that are painting themselves into a corner because in reality most of Thailand looks EXACTLY like that.
25 years since my first visit to Singapore 🇸🇬 in 1999 vs this morning. Back then the Merlion was still located on the inside mouth of the river before the causeway and omg before the land Marina Bay Sands had been reclaimed 🫡
Instead of spending 30 to 40 baht for a Twix or KitKat you can get the identical knockoff Break chocolate bar for 10 baht

Good morning Phnom Penh! Waking up to a view of beautiful temples, majestic gold palaces, skyscrapers, casinos and the Mekhong river (fare left) at dawn all in one view

I love this rare colored photo taken in 1866 of the Golden Mount Pou Khao Thong by John Thomson, a Scottish photographer who came to Thailand during the reign of King Rama IV

. Looks like he was on the Panfa Leela bridge but it must've still been a small wooden structure
Took a shortcut to Sukhotai through the Soi Soda community along the canal. It sure is beautiful here. You never see anything like this from the main streets.
Charlie cat is still fighting after a few close calls these past few days but seems stronger more awake this morning but idk can easily deteriorate so will keep a close eye on him. Thanks to everyone who took time to wish him luck.
A timelapse of the monsoon winds unleashing a massive rain storm upon Bangkok taken by taping my old camera phone onto my old office window and letting it record while I worked
Took Charlie's remaining food and donated it to my friend Noi, a guy at the end of street who looks after the stray soi cats & kittens down there, to be put to good use in Charlie's honor 🙏
I figured there had to be a better way than driving across town ugly crying in rush hour traffic, finding parking, with his tiny little body in a box only to have to wander, search and then wait god knows how long at the temple for someone to help us...
After 30 days plus another 30 day extension at CW this bird has flown... Godspeed brother, Godspeed 🫡🫡🫡 not surprised that after 2 months he said goodbye and thanks via a text
My photo of the line to Krispy Kreme when the first store opened in Siam Paragon back in 2010. The trick was to go buy the black market forbidden Krispy Kreme donuts they sold across the street for 100b each instead of waiting in this long queue 🤣
20 years ago on Sukhumvit Soi 5 near the old Gullivers feeding a poor babyelephant in Bangkok. I am so glad they no longer allow them into the city the way they used to do.
On the morning of 9/11/2001, I took 24 exposures w/ a disposable camera I bought from a bodega in lower Manhattan. I watch 1st tower collapse from the fountain at Washington Square park and walked to near ground zero before having to run from wall of debris after 2nd tower fell.
Back at the vet with poor little Charlie cat. Little guy hasn't eaten since they gave him the shot of antibiotics. Seems awake and conscious at times others look like he's ready to pass due to weakness. Hope a saline drip will help him 🙏
King Rama V visited Than Sadet Waterfall on Koh Phangan 14 times, with his royal initials engraved on stones. The waterfall is considered a sacred site and holds historical significance

I remember taking this photo of the British embassy from my old office in Wave Place after it was rumored that Central group was buying the section closest to Sukhumvit Road for a new mall. It's amazing to see how much Ploenchit has changed over the last 20++ years

Historic photo from 1905 at Wat Saket shows White-rumped Vultures feeding on human corpses in Bangkok. Evidence of vultures being numerous in old Siam, but no proof of sky burial practices like those in Tibet. Image from La Vie Illustrée.
So the Pet Cremation Service for Charlie 🐈
#RIP
was the way to go. Added him on Line, quick chat, quick pickup by motorcycle, temple cremation, delivered ashes 10 days later for 500 baht ~$15. First time in 17 years haven't had a kitty in my life 💔
