UK COVID19 INQUIRY 🔵 Anna Miller, Head of Policy and Advocacy, was at the COVID19 Inquiry last week to testify on the failure of our government to defend public health during the pandemic, who instead chose to prioritise their anti-migrant agenda. During the pandemic, NHS policies like the migrant charging regime and data-sharing with the Home Office created huge barriers for people seeking care. ➡️ These policies weren’t just unfair and inefficient—they actively undermined public health. Vaccination rates among migrants lagged far behind, and their risk of hospitalisation and death was significantly higher, while making up a large portion of our essential workforce. PILC are supporting tenants in taking @LambethSE to court for renting council properties on the private market. It may lead to the evictions of hundreds of residents. Many being made homeless will have to seek housing from the same council evicting them.
