PFC Cicchetti organized a team of litter bearers that spent 4 hours crossing 400 yards back-and-forth under fire to retrieve wounded comrades. Severely wounded himself, he recovered one last soldier before succumbing to his wounds. He is buried at Sandy Valley Cemetery, Waynesburg, OH.
