If you are new(ish) in your industry and are tasked with working with executives in any capacity, I'm going to give you the TOP FIVE TIPS I wish someone would have told me. I had to learn these over time (and sometimes the hard way) and they've been fundamental to my communication style no matter what I'm doing. Working with execs requires more than hard work and enthusiasm; it necessitates strategic foresight and a deep understanding of executives-level needs. [Also a great refresher for anyone looking to grow in their career.] 📜 - Provide Comprehensive Briefings: Always ensure that the information you provide is complete. Executives often juggle multiple high-stake projects and require brief yet comprehensive data to make informed decisions quickly. (Honestly, this could become one of your most valuable assets and help you learn and grow along the way) 🗓 Your Deadlines are Your Credibility: Especially early on, execs may view your ability based on how much they can trust you to meet deadlines. Managing these deadlines is a skill in and of itself. Don't set them too fast in an effort to please everyone, set them according to priorities and what you know you have time blocked off to complete. It's better to be early on a later deadline, than miss something because you're still learning how to manage a task list). ⏰ Understand Their Schedule: Executives often have back-to-back meetings. If you can learn how to share updates and GIVE THEM ENOUGH TIME to review something, it shows your ability to be proactive and understand nuances of business time. If you're constantly sending them things at the last minute or only with a few minutes to review, it will become an issue and could impact your job performance. 👋 Prioritize Responsiveness: Understanding what is urgent and important over everything else, means you'll be able to regularly triage incoming communications and know what needs to be done now versus later. Attention to the most important things is crucial in fast-paced environments. 🤔 Communicate Efficiently: Learn the art of concise communication. Executives appreciate brevity and clarity that allows them to grasp the essentials without wading through unnecessary details. Developing a personal format/template for your updates helps to give you "internal brand identity" and can help things move along faster. What else would you add?

Journalists, producers, editors, etc... – I’m bringing back a bit of the old-school desk-side briefing feel with 'Media Office Hours.' 📰 I have time blocked daily for 15 or 30 minute virtual chats to share sources, discuss industry trends, or just connect on how PR can better support your work. 🤝 No agenda, just a space to build relationships and exchange ideas. If you're interested, I’d love to chat and help however I can. 💭 Please DM me to schedule one at your convenience.
