@shetlerjones Completely agree. I do think a sharp NATO build up and a believable threat of intervention might have prevented war in Ukraine and created space for a negotiation on European security. But you can't retrofit history.

@shetlerjones The question is whether NATO could beat Russia. But it's an academic point. I suspect public pressure to settle would be far greater in European democracies than in Ukraine.
