You might want to clarify what that tx that cost $10 was doing. My bet is it was deploying a fairly large contract (which consumes a lot of data). Regular tx's or AMM trades do not cost that on Base. I agree with most of your sentiment but cherry-picking data hurts your message.

This isn't even a Base transaction.... It's an Ethereum transaction. Also if you just send directly to the bridge contract the fee is 70% lower (only for ETH bridging no stables).

Bud Fehu paid a higher fee rate, their tx was more optimized is all (so total fee lower). ViaBTC did not order the tx in a special way for them. Meme Economics though, now THAT TX was ordered untraditionally and had to have colluded with ViaBTC.
