@covie_93 She probably doesn't identify as Indian. She probably just identifies as American. So I am guessing she won't be bothered by this.

I am not. I was pointing out that the examples provided by NIH are on the extreme right of the Bell curve. There are multiple other universities with substantially less endowments that do use federal funding and associated overheadd to do impactful research. All that will be affected by such an arbitrary and substantial cut.

@dr_andrealove But maybe the Department of Education did fail. If you have a crop of young adults believing everything they hear on Tik Tok, and believing every conspiracy theory out there , that clearly shows an education that failed to develop capacity to think logically.

@SashaGusevPosts Vinay Prasad's post was ridiculous. Looked like he wants to be Vivek Ramasamy lite and drive traffic to his podcast.

This goes back to the lack of effective communication by agencies like NIH that target a broader lay audience. If people were truly aware of the impact of NIH research dollars beyond just research, the larger population would be vocal against this insane cut. Unfortunately, we were all complacent in thinking common sense would prevail, and now we have to explain the difference between biomedical research and Healthcare.

@chorye @MDAndersonNews Texas, Nebraska, Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, Montana, Idaho... the list goes on. People don't realize how much NIH funded research stimulates the economy in every single state. They are sky to find out.

@coopercooperco Yup. Now with CFPB gone, Banks are going to gamble in the crypto space with our money and then they are going to cause an epic crash similar to 2008.
