Orrin Hatch’s greatest achievement, to me, was his fight to pass CHIP. He fought members of his own party to make it happen. He said “we have a moral responsibility” to enact CHIP because as he rightly put it, “children without healthcare are scarred for the rest of their lives.”

Again if you’re arguing for student loan debt cancellation on any kind of policy basis aside from a belief that all college should be free, the data is clear: if not properly means tested and otherwise targeted, this is a giveaway to wealthy, white, graduate school grads.

I have talked with many DC friends who have been puzzled at Cheney's motivations. I heard "maybe she wants a corporate board seat", "maybe she wants to run for President", "maybe she misread the winds on J6 and had to stick with it." She did the right thing because it was right.

The IRA gives us a pathway to climate success, but it doesn’t necessarily guarantee that projects get completed. That’s where permitting reform comes in.
