@Meligy @reactjs @rustlang @swc_rs @nextjs @babeljs we are still working on adding first class support for swc through a wrapper swc plugin. however, at the moment we will not be porting the compiler to another language:
@hardfist_1 @re_taro_ The compiler is pretty complex at this point and we’re rapidly expanding the feature set, so porting to Rust doesn’t make sense. We’re exploring a thin swc plugin that calls into the JS-based compiler.

@sebastienlorber note that this would be optional since our vision is that you shouldn't need to configure the compiler. this is primarily for internal use cases.
