While storm Isla was blowing a gale
@plymouthsouprun
were out on the streets of Plymouth serving much needed hot food, soup, hot drinks, sandwiches & drinks. The team could not believe just how many people braved the weather to get food. Just over 100 people served!
On Sunday we were joined by 4 students from Plymouth University Islamic society who, with their fellow students, had put together really useful care packs.
We served 70 people who were all delighted with the packs and both thanked the students and then told us how kind it was.
On a bitterly cold night we were still very busy.
We served 73 people, cottage pie, chocolate cake and custard, soup, a bag of treats, hot drinks and an assortment of tinned and packet food.
SWEP is in place and everyone knew where to go. Great work by
@PathDevon
@plymouthcc
Such a positive story. When out today a man came up with his daughter and thanked me for helping him get his life back on track. He is now in his own accommodation with access to his daughter Thanks

Last night on the Soup Run, while serving hot dogs and pasties, we were busy reminding the 54 people we served that they could go to the Plymouth Pavilions for their Covid vaccination on Thursday.
Lots of discussion and reassurance that we will be there with drinks and snacks.
The last 2 nights have been very busy
@plymouthsouprun
. We fed 95 people on Saturday and 106 on Sunday. Colder now with many asking for gloves and sleeping bags. Using

Tonight,
@BigIssue
seller, Clive Rowe kindly donated the honorarium he received for a client research collaboration, to
@plymouthsouprun
.
Clive said he wanted “ to donate his fees to the soup run and further help the people who were kind enough to talk to me”.
Many thanks Clive.
Such a privilege to have helped at the very successful Covid vaccination clinic today for people who are homeless and vulnerable.
200 + people were vaccinated with a range of other health services also available.
