欧州の干ばつでチェコやドイツの河川に「ハンガーストーン(飢餓石)」が見られた。この石は川の水位が極端に低下すると見ることができ、飢饉を予測するためのシグナルとして使われていた。エルベ川の石は1616年のもので、"If you see me, cry"と書かれている。
なお、前回は2018年に現れたらしい。
