Making an Olympic team is not someone's entire career, and Hezly wouldn't have made the team if it was 4 people. Many felt Mykayla should've made the 4 person team to begin with, and also the 2016 team, when she placed 4th at trials. Something Hezly has not achieved.

Hezly has not surpassed what she has done. It's not about her anyway. She's allowed to make a statement that she feels something is missing and things felt more competitive in the past. MANY have said similar things, but now just because she said it, suddenly it's unspeakable.
