@techikansh as of the newest 4o upgrade which was actually pretty huge 3.6 sonnet and 4o are similar enough im sure this could not happen

googles newest imagen 3.1 is the 3rd best image model in the world and available completely for free with pretty much unlimited rate limits on the gemini app and if imagen 3 is this good i just cant wait for gemini 2 native image gen to come out first omnimodal model to release

@kimmonismus the dataminers are seeing that sora will soon get image generation and will be accessible directly inside chatgpt that is already a huge step and will probably release quite soon

so o3-mini-high let me upload an image but says it can see it same with o3-mini normal which also says it can see the image i uploaded but the UI let me upload one

@Angaisb_ its still so confusing like it seems to me like o3 wont exist afterall and will infact just be renamed to GPT-5 which just calls o3 at different intelligence settings. is there a base model? they said 4.5 is the latest base model so does gpt-5 use gpt-4.5 as the base route stuff?

@kimmonismus @apples_jimmy if GPT-5 is just a router between intelligence settings of o3 then is there no base model like a non chain of thought model for the lowest setting so in other words they just renamed o3 to GPT-5 and called it a day

sama said o3 is definitely coming between february and march he now says o3 will not ship as a standalone model it will come with gpt-5 so if o3 and gpt-5 are fused and o3 is coming feb-march then that must mean gpt-5 is coming feb-march confirmed

from this tweet it sounds like GPT-5 is just a router between GPT-4.5, o3-low, medium, high, and pro and if so that would suggest o3 is based on GPT-4.5
