@CSheltonChron @pickleball_jim Paddle pop/power needs to be dialed down further(10%?). Selkirk 008, Bantam tko 12.7, proXR new paddle all have too much pop/power. With these paddles expect short, uninteresting rallies & less movement. Do they also measure pop with various paddle swing speeds? @JohnkewPickle

@gymnpickle Yes. X40 favors skill , movement, athleticism & longer rallies. For hot Summer, X40 becomes too soft & too slow. In summer S1 pro is not a bad ball to use. Singles today is a bit more like tennis where hard serves & 3rdshot drive passing shots are common which favors hardball

@AppOff_Bull @federicostak Selkirk S1 pro is one of the most underrated innovations in PB space. It's got great spin & it's speed is 'medium high'. S/t it does get a little bit out of round but in my experience it has not affected bounce or play..no wobble . It could be used in hot summer or cold winter

@chriscantino @federicostak Fed maybe talking singles where speed of drives is a factor. For doubles, mobility & longer rallies needed for it to even look like a sport. The 1 dimensional rally standing at k-line , a roll/flick & 3-4 rebound shots that ensue doesn't look like a sport! @JimmyMiller_PB

@ScottsdaleMark1 @Pickleball 1) Slower ball = longer rallies & more shot making skills at display, more movement. 2) NO shaky jib side angle camera from tennis channel which makes it easier to follow the point @Brooksasaurus @connorpardoe_pb @JimmyMiller_PB

@chriscantino @ZaneNavratil @USAPickleball @spus44 As there is no automatic way to break the paddle the moment a part of it is core-crushed, the easiest way is for USAPA toSTOP approving paddles that use materials &processes(eg: thermoform)that are prone to failure within say a year of use. That can largely solve this huge issue

@chriscantino @ZaneNavratil @USAPickleball @spus44 Guy who was playing j2k was a 3.0 but some of the rebounds & rolls were coming so fast that he was beating reaction time of skilled 5.0s. Maybe it was just core crushed & not by design. But we need to shine the spotlight on this huge issue . Do you have a solution?

@WillHowells_pb @JimmyMiller_PB Case for X40 (except in hot summer where S1 pro cd be used) -Longer rallies -More shot making variety (esp resets of speedups & lob overheads ),more defense to offense - More mobility (in doubles) Vs Hard ball like Vulcan- 1-dimensional 3-4 ball short rally once ball is sped up

@stockgeekTV @ZaneNavratil For hot weather, the higher speed Selkirk S1 pro is a good ball to use. I do think pbCOR of 0.43 needs to be reduced further by 10%? . With the further reduction in pbCOR the technique/skill becomes more important to generate power esp for counters, flicks. @spus44

@spus44 @X @UnitedPBAssoc @PPAtour @MajorLeaguePB @USAPickleball @chriscantino Maybe all paddle manufactrs, need to be reqd to recycle their paddles &consumers get a small kickback(like core charge)when they return their out of spec paddle. This d not only solve recycling waste, but also prevent all these millions out of spec paddles from being used at Rec.

@spus44 @chriscantino @PPAtour So many "core crushed", "broken-in" paddles ruining rec play! Since paddle testing is irrelevant for rec play, @USAPickleball needs to put a stop to approving mtls & processes(eg: thermoforming) that are known to"core crush", "break-in". U need to raise the bar for paddle making.

@tylerloong Check this
@spus44 @chriscantino @PPAtour @USAPickleball @PPAtour needs to experiment with a small group of top pros, if u wanna try to make the game better. Increase spin( say 25% from current threshold) & Reduce pbCoR (10% further from 0.43). See how rallies happen-Get feedback from pros.Goal needs to be "better" & longer rally

@connorpardoe_pb @PPAtour TBH doubles(esp men's)needs more interesting, physically challenging rallies than just "soft dinks & speed-ups" standing close to k-line. I think this rule change has the potential to accomplish it. Like to hear from pros on this suggestion @AndreaRemynse
Rule proposal to incent lobs: If you let a lob bounce, u lose the point. All lobs have to be returned OFF THE AIR either as overheads, drives, drops or counter-lobs. This will make doubles PB challenging physically. No more just kitchen line battles as the threat of lob is real.

@TalkPickleball @jillybpb @connorpardoe_pb Those numbers that Connor put out in a tweet mean nothing unless they are from audited financials!! The best response would be to release 2024 audited financials of PPA . I get it that PPA is a private company..so they have no obligation to make this public

@mauldindin @glendaglove5683 @JimmyMiller_PB All TRAMPOLINES need to be banned & ball needs to be FranklinX40,if PB wants interesting, longer rallies with creative shot making, touch & mobility instead of getting reduced to a game of just banging mostly standing at k-line. @pickleball_jim @GreaseyMaurice @connorpardoe_pb
