Mary Pickford wearing her favorite hat to plant trees next to her bungalow at the Pickford-Fairbanks studio. I think this was taken at the same time as the cover shot for Cinemagazine in 1922. #MaryPickford
4 years later, Mary wears her favorite hat again for the cover of the September 1922 edition of Cinemagazine. #MaryPickford

@FriendlessGhoul Any idea what book they were reading? Looks like two copies of the same book.

Couple more posts coming on Mary Pickford's favorite hat including a runner up contestant. Below a hand signed print by Nelson Evans circa 1919. #MaryPickford

@BusterKGifs @FriendlessGhoul I wish they gave us a tool to set the center position of an image rather than just a crop tool.

On this day, 107 years ago, Mary Pickford wore her favorite hat in honor of the servicemen of the 143rd Artillery. Anyone want to guess what color the hat was using the campaign hat cord color reference below? #MaryPickford

This day 107 years ago, Mary Pickford blew the whistle to start the football 🏈 game between the He-men(143rd) and the Grizzlies(144th) field artillery before a crowd of 10,000 at San Diego. Fred Thompson had both his legs broken in the opening minutes of the game. #SuperBowlLIX

Here is Mary Pickford with her favorite hat and husband Doug Fairbanks. (the favorite thing applies only to the hat as she loved Doug and Buddy equally in different ways. Sorry Owen) Photo is circa 1920. Mary wore this hat on and off for over a decade. #MaryPickford

After this floral creation failed to cause a sensation with the railroad workers, Mary Pickford discarded the hat, never to be worn again. #MaryPickford

@ElizabethDFJnr It's difficult for me to chose just one, but perhaps his (uncredited) contributions to the Wizard of Oz.

Finding a lost silent film is like finding buried treasure. It was there all along, just waiting to be re-discovered. Each of us can share in this experience when we watch a film for the first time. Below, a rare still from the (mostly lost) Mary Pickford film Captain Kidd Jr.
Absolutely incredible news coming out of Long Island, New York. An archivist found a print of a considered lost 1915 silent film about Lincoln. "Film archivist Eliot Kissileff was able to clean and digitize the movie, so it could never be lost again." 🥹

Lack of a hat in Victorian society could be cause for despair. Mary Pickford in search of a hat in M'Liss (1918). #MaryPickford

@DefiyantlyFree The best (worst?) years of the Nazi party were yet to come when the Hindenburg caught fire. Let's hope this isn't the "current" political state of any party.
