during A-levels results days, my teacher brought me aside and told me that my grades were good but she knew that I must have gotten an A in Psychology. She said I could consider re-marks for the exam papers. However, I knew that I couldn’t afford it nor….
OK here's a rant about A level re-marks.
My son had a below prediction score, so (because I was able to) I paid the £150 per paper re-mark charge. He went up by TEN marks and a whole grade.
The fact that this option is only open to those that can afford it is totally unfair.

my parents would consider even paying for it. She saw I was disappointed and told me thats okay, you don’t have to do it. I went home as normal. The next day I found out that she had paid for them to be re-marked on my behalf and my grades did in fact go up as a result.

That act of kindness has always stuck with me. She didn’t have to but she did. It truly meant a lot to me that she even took the time to inform me but to then go ahead and do it on my behalf…I was and am grateful for it still!

just to add: Hallie has every right to feel the way she does and navigating the world as bravely as she is doing. At the same time, painting a muslim woman in a bad light to everyone (espec as she wanted to learn) and then back tracking when confronted is also not the best move.

This warms my heart. I remember being 11 and praying Allah would remove me or change me. I never saw a way out in being myself in society and this post would have helped my younger self gain self-acceptance. So thankful there will be young ppl who see this and find hope 💝🙏🏽
Met in 2014, didn’t like each other. Met again in a group of friends, hit it off. People said it wouldn’t work due to culture, no family support & been shunned from the community but here we are out & proud over 8 years later: married, thriving and inspiring other South Asians 🏳️🌈

from what I can remember, it was around £50 per exam paper. I took 3 exam papers for this subject so it would be £150 ish to get them all re-marked and checked as a priority service. Not sure what it costs these days!
