I had a sales rep with an upset tummy this morning (4th of a July). He’s a 23 year old full grown adult but he crapped his pants when he got out to his area to start knocking doors. His girlfriend drove an hour out to him, brought him a change of clothes, and he went out and.

Why is pest control the best industry? . Each tech can service >$400k in a year.Quarterly services cost $125 and take 20 minutes to complete. Compare it to trash pickup where they charge $40 a month and service weekly. Labor is cheap.Products are cheap.Margins are insane.

Our service is one you can’t see. So how can we prove it’s not a scam?. Let’s begin. The stuff in this bottle claims 12 months of control” but if you’ve ever sprayed it, you will realize after 1-2 months the bugs are back. The active ingredient in this bottle is bifenthrin.

Unpopular opinion: Pest control is mostly a scam. Source: I sprayed it for 3 years in Florida and my mentor owned a pest control company. This costs $9 at Home Depot. Spray the perimeter of your house once a year and you are golden. More serious stuff? Call a company. 80/20.

One thing I absolutely hate on this app is the business owners that talk down to W2 workers. It's fine if you have decided that a desk job is not for you, but don't belittle employees. I realize that my business needs employees to operate and grow. I couldn't do it without.

Beat up van, Bed Bugs, and 50 million dollars . Everyone wants recurring revenue, but why take the risk of building out software. If you’re thinking about building a business from scratch, you may want to consider private equity darling pest control the SAAS of home services

There’s an incredible operator in our industry. His name is Josh Zuniga. He set the industry record for pest control accounts sold via D2D in 2020 I believe. It has since been broken but he pushed the game to new heights. He started his own company in Washington just a few

I have fallen victim to the local newsletter hype. My business partner and I decided to start one in each of our business locations. Our first post went out a few weeks ago. The goal is to provide a nice, free service to the public and also run a small banner across the top

Our first month running our business we did $8k in revenue. This February we did $40k. 2 weeks ago we did $16k in 7 days. This week we did $15k in revenue. Have another sales rep starting next week. Hopefully $60k months are normal before long.

I don’t want a $50 million company. I’ve never known anybody that owned one. Call me small minded, that’s fine. I want to make a couple hundred thousand dollars a year and spend a ton of time with my family. The day I have enough to retire comfortably, I’m done. I love.

Best day we’ve had in a long time. New office hire is a rockstar. New technician is on top of things. Another record day of revenue (basically in October? Unreal). Business is up 50% at our second location 2 months in a row. About to tap into an email list of 7000 past.

Told my wife I had the day off. She wanted to take a little nap so I snuck down into my man cave. Our Google page says we’re closed today but customers are thrilled when I fire a few emails out and respond to missed calls. I’ll spend time with her when she wakes back up.

In July we acquired our first company. We put $0 down, got a seller note for 10% that we don’t make payments on at all for the first 24 months, and a 90% SBA loan to cover the rest. Last month it did $45k in revenue and had $27k in expenses. Can one of the spreadsheet.

When people ask what you do for work, what do you say?. “I do pest control” is my usual response. I just have PTSD from a conversation I had last year where I asked a guy what he did for work and he said, “I own a small tech- I’m sorry I own a medium sized tech company.” . It.

5 months ago I signed a personal guarantee on a loan for half a million dollars at the age 25. I didn’t sleep real well for about 2 weeks. Then I got to work and haven’t worried about it since.

Believe me, I would love this too! Here’s why we can’t:. 1- our prices are based on frequency, size of building or home, and pests present. Customers would have to be able to identify what they have accurately, pick a plan that may not be sufficient for their situation, and also.

Wifey went to Google to find a pest control company. But was frustrated at how difficult it was. Wife: "I don't understand. I don't want to call anyone. I just want to schedule a visit. Why can't I just do that.". Me: turns on voice recorder . Me: "sorry, can you say that again.

2 years ago on this day I sprayed 15 homes and my business partner sprayed 10 while we handled the office responsibilities and did everything else. We were the only employees. Today, we had a virtual staff meeting with all 8 of our employees across our two locations. We are.

A trend i’m seeing:. Fewer and fewer people want to be billed monthly. They don’t even want billed quarterly. More and more customers asking to pay for a year in full. I think subscriptions are beaten to death and people are tired of it.

If you’ve been following my account for the last year, you know I don’t only share our victories but also our pain points and losses. What you’ll notice is the vast majority of our problems cannot be solved with technology. We don’t need another SaaS. We don’t need more.

Customers that pay the least complain the most. The company we bought has charged their customers below market value for 20 years. Even though that company is half the size of our first location, those customers are generating 2x the call volume right now. Do yourself a favor.

I hope that along with tariffs, Trump adds steep penalties to companies that outsource labor - specifically for call centers. Let’s keep money in America and create American jobs. I’m just not a big fan of virtual assistants or any type of offshoring.

I attended the BYU ETA conference today. Met a lot of cool people and had some great conversations. My main takeaway?. All of these super successful business people that have started, acquired, and or grown their companies into millions of dollars are also super humble,.

Oil changes are a scam! . You can go to autozone and get all the stuff you need for an oil change for like $30. The shops want to charge $70-$100. What a ripoff. Also, I heard the plumber gets his supplies at Lowe’s. I can get it there and do my own plumbing. Everything is a

Revenue by year:. Year 1 - $178k (9 months). Year 2 - $468k. Year 3 - $495k (so far) projected to end up at $885k. However, to achieve this growth, my partner and I have had to throw a lot of the potential profits right back into the machine. We will only take home 30% more.

Too many business owners make this one crucial mistake:. Thinking they can hire out all the labor too soon. In the early innings (first several years at a minimum) you should be working alongside your employees 40 hours a week and putting in overtime. The social media dream of.

Building spreadsheets, creating a logo, and filing your LLC is the fun stuff. That’s what social media wants you to believe owning a business is. What are you going to do when it’s snowing, it’s 29 degrees out in March, and you’ve got employees to keep busy? . Put on a coat and

Can you start a pest control business while working a full time job?. I get this question a lot. You would still need to make the full investment which is at a minimum $1000 and get your licensing and insurance squared away. At this point, most of your fixed costs are already
