@JASeagal @taipan168 Really? Hardware Ln is full of places targeted at tourists. The sort of places with workers out the front holding menus harassing people to come in.

@RangaRunner Ride share/taxis can carry 3-4 ppl—provided they don’t have too much luggage. You pay for the car so that cost can be spread. The return Skybus works out to be $20.60/per person per leg. I just looked up over now and it’s over $50 from MEL to Southern Cross. Horses for courses.

@Glorifiedchair @fictillius @ronInBendigo I’m literally looking at flights from Japan right now. My international flight will depart Haneda. I’ll be flying up domestically from Fukuoka—I have the options of flying to Narita or Haneda. It would have to be a pretty big upside to fly into Narita if I’m flying out of Haneda.

@Glorifiedchair @fictillius @ronInBendigo And that’s a conscious decision those edge case people will make.

@ronInBendigo @fictillius … Both GRO and REU are classified as ‘Barcelona’ airports but indeed are miles away and usually attract cheap low-cost carrier fares and that’s why people use them.

@ronInBendigo @fictillius If you have an itinerary whereby you are to fly into one and out of the other, that’s a deliberate choice and would represent an edge case. In Dec 23 I flew into Frankfurt to get to Limerick, Ireland. Some fking around, but it was a deliberate choice.

@lawrensaw @fictillius Regardless of durability, a cover is a smart idea. And don’t get caught up on “shouldn’ts”—take some personal responsibility in the face of the facts.

@SustainableTall @Ubique2078 So a seperate structure when a secure enclosure for a valuable asset (car, and other stuff) can just be incorporated under the same roof?

@stationmum101 Can’t find the source of this claim. A pic with the @DailyMailAU logo on it isn’t a verified source. What’s your source?

@Sassafrass_84 What’s more—it’s safer snd easier scooping up water from a still lake or reservoir than from the chopping, wind-swept Pacific ocean.

@FishmoreDolitte @scepticsinc ~ looks up the place it would have been to fact check this ~ Piece of Barra $14. Cup ot chips $5. So, let’s call it $20 per adult. That’s $60. The burger for the kid and chips—$20. That’s $80. Let’s say the adults were really hungry and had two pieces of fish each—$122???
