@chrischirp
Thank you for providing the information we all need. You are so right - 1,000 deaths per week is NOT ok. That’s 52,000 per year!! I just don’t get why there is not an outcry about this. The media are not questioning what the government is doing about these numbers. Why?
“.. In his refusal to call out Islamophobia, or acknowledge that his success is no answer to racism, Sunak laid bare the very reason why we need to keep talking about racism, the complexity of how it is used politically..” says
@Hardeep_Matharu
in
@BylineTimes

Spent today reading
@OborneTweets
brilliant, “The Assault on Truth.” A gripping, although disturbing read. Sets out how Johnson’s govt has turned the UK into a place where truth and integrity no longer matter. Echoes of Orwell’s 1984, but the sad thing is this is not fiction 😱😱
@JacquiMckenzie6
I stand with
@JacquiMckenzie6
, an excellent lawyer, who tabloids are trying to rubbish for simply doing her job. Keep up the good work Jacqui.✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
@Haggis_UK
Let’s hope they are as good as their word. Reform must be taken on and shown to be what they are - racist sympathisers, and I’m being polite. (Someone whose hero is Enoch Powell cannot be anything but this).
@shawemily
@campbellclaret
@BorisJohnson
You have hit the nail on the head. No one is saying this is easy, far from it. But you need to be decisive and clear with the public about the decisions you take. The current test + trace scheme is NOT WORKING. This must be sorted out NOW otherwise we will be back here again.
@Channel4News
This story is extremely concerning. Aaron Banks lying is one thing, but
@RobbieGibb
decision to not run this story when he was the editor for the
#Marr
show on
@BBC
, during the
#Brexit
campaign is very disturbing.
Well said
@Hardeep_Matharu
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿. Sunak failed as Prime Minister to use the office to call out racism within his party and by Frank Hester as he thought this would be helpful to him politically. It never is. Just a shame he, and others, had to find out the hard way.
Sunak rightly condemned being labelled a “P*ki”. That he didn’t use his time as PM to condemn other instances of racism, against other minorities, who don’t have his privileges, for politically expedient reasons, is one of his biggest failings in office.

(me) is very pleased to announce that I have been made a Partner at Capsticks Solicitors LLP. I am so excited to be a Partner at a firm which is passionate about the work we do and the organisations we act for.

I agree. But the PM now has no one to hide behind. She must answer questions about what she knew and when re her hostile environment policy and how this was adversely impacting the
#WindrushGeneration
. Politicians must be held to account their policies.
@pritipatel
@ukhomeoffice
Your government has had 3 years to sort out compensation for all of those affected by the
#windrushscandal
. You have been Home Secretary since last July and only 60/1275 have received compensation. This is a disgrace. Talk is cheap. We want action. Sort it out -now!!
@BBCBreaking
So sad to hear this news. Bill Turnbull was an exemplary journalist who also showed that the job could be done and make people smile. 😊😊. I hope this gives his friends and family some small comfort at what must be the most desperate of times for them. RIP Bill Turnball🙏🏿🙏🏿
@shereen_daniels
Could not agree more. Just having black and brown faces in Cabinet, cannot be a goal in and of itself. Those ‘faces’ must advocate policies which address both systemic and institutional racism if they are truly to be ‘representative’. This lot have not. They’ve done the opposite.
Today as Chair of
@emplawyers
I have sent a letter to
@thetimes
summarising
@emplawyers
grave concerns about the legal uncertainty that the Retained EU Law Bill will cause if enacted - see below
#REULBill
Letter in Times today from
@paulmcf10
of
@emplawyers
on Retained EU Law Bill.
'If this bill is passed then on January 1 next year, workers and businesses will wake up to a wholly uncertain legal system that will require years of litigation before certainty is regained.'
I am pleased to announce that I have been shortlisted as "Minority Lawyer of the Year" at the Chambers & Partners Diversity and Inclusion Awards: Europe 2019
Thank you
@Weightmans_Empl

@Weightmans

@CapsticksEmp
starting on 29 May.
Some pics from last night’s

Thank you for tweeting these stories. This shows this government knowingly pursued its ‘hostile environment’ policy.
@theresa_may
has a lot to answer for. See must explain to Parliament why she allowed this to happen and then seriously consider her position.
Celebrating my Mum’s 80th birthday, virtually, today with our family. Whilst COVID has prevented us all being together, technology has allowed us to meet and thank my Mum/Nanny, Great Grandma for all the love and support she has provided to all of us.

Very good point. We are here because they were there (our ancestors homelands). Britain wealth was built on its colonies- so gratitude should never come into it.
In the mid 1990s when I qualified as a lawyer, Susan one of a few black employment lawyers. She was a trail blazer and, she probably did not know it, but she was an inspiration to me as someone I could aspire to be (both professionally and personally).
#RIPSusan
It is with enormous sadness that we have today lost Susan Belgrave a tremendous lawyer and much loved and highly valued member of our Employment Team. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with her family.

Up until now I have tried to believe the

It was a pleasure and joy to have been one of the external assessors for this excellent initiative by
