I don’t think pastors should be immune from criticism. This takes history and Scripture and applies it to us, wholly out of context. Jesus was crucified by the corrupt political class who had their hands in their countrymen’s pockets. They couldn’t convince the Roman governor that Jesus was a threat to Rome, but Pilate let them crucify Him anyways to placate a mob. Jesus Christ died to pay the price for everyone’s sins. He was on one side: ours. He died so that humanity could have redemption and hope for an eternity spent with God the Father, not in eternal separation in Hell. I hope Rick has that good news renewed in his heart today.
