@nuttyscot @Mendelpol @ham59041r Its air and sea space was wholly controlled by a foreign power. It was kept under constant aerial surveillance by a foreign power. Hope this helps.

@ZSohail10 It is entirely implausible that a Bengali speaker might have successfully found their way to Whitechapel Station but would then be unable to identify it *as* Whitechapel Station if its name were not written in Bengali script. The name is written in Bengali script as a courtesy.
