@HilaireNereus I know many pastors that believe the same stupid things they believed decades ago and believe it is a mark of piety. So yes I understand the point. We value growth not obtusity in error

Think it’s more related to how long term Christian’s get indoctrinated in churches with many less than ideal things. Another example. New believer willl sing psalms in church easily. Old believer used to hymns will despise psalms when introduced. Why? They have been indoctrinated by church tradition.
