🌱We’re celebrating the incredible work of Nutri Aid Trust, our partner working with @OxfamInZam to support farmers and strengthen communities. Nutri Aid Trust helps #farmers grow their own food and build #sustainable livelihoods by teaching different farming methods. Beyond food security, they empower farmers to sell their crops, creating extra income and reducing reliance on humanitarian aid. Read more about their impact This vital work is supported by funding from @Irish_Aid #IrishAidWorks

Martin Butcher, @Oxfam's Policy Advisor on Arms and Conflict, said that “at least some” public funding “will be assisting in the maintenance and repair of F-35s” for use in #Gaza. @Independent_ie @BelTel

There has been a glimmer of #hope for the people of Gaza, but this #ceasefire must be permanent. People in #Gaza are searching for loved ones and trying to rebuild shattered lives. There must be immediate and widespread access to lifesaving humanitarian assistance. We need to see accountability and an end to atrocities. The Irish Government must pass the Occupied Territories Bill as a matter of urgency. ✍️ Sign the #petition and stand with us in demanding a permanent #ceasefire 💚Donate to the Gaza appeal

Crisis in #DRC 🚨 Fighting has surged in #Goma city, forcing people to flee their homes. A quarter of the population needs humanitarian assistance. Women and girls are at extreme risk of gender-based violence.🆘 We urgently call for an end to hostilities and immediate international support.

Today, we mark #BrigidsDay and the messages of inclusion, hope and renewal it symbolises. It being a day that celebrates the feminine, we applaud our many partner organisations who work to empower women. One of them is Women's Academy for Leadership and Political Excellence @WalpeAcademy in Zimbabwe. It was set up in 2018, after it became clear that women were not fully represented in the elections. Getting more women to get into politics and to run for the next election is WALPE’s goal. It works to give women the skills to take up leadership positions at all levels. Read more about WALPE from Margret Zinhumwe, its Programmes Manager

"The fact an asylum seeker from Eritrea, Sudan or Afghanistan may find themselves at Poland’s border as a result of Putin’s ulterior motives does not mean they are any less entitled to protection. Yet the plan to shut off access to asylum at the EU’s eastern border met with no dissent from Ireland or other member states" @jackpowerIT on 🇪🇺 policies Also worth remembering that 71% of refugees are hosted in low-and-middle income countries

Thousands of people in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo #DRC are on the move due to the conflict, and need food and water. "People started to come back to the camps. We try to continue pumping water in the displacement camps where we were working, but it is very challenging," says Dr Manenji Mangundu, Oxfam DRC. 👉
