For years, I didn’t know if I’d make it to the next birthday, and even if I managed to pull off a miracle, having a child seemed highly questionable at best due to all the trauma. It’s been a crazy ride and today I feel extremely blessed. Meet Daisy, our little miracle baby 🙂

Clear scans 🙌🙌 Very grateful. If you’re struggling with treatment, just a reminder that I was given a super daunting survival rate and didn’t always know these days would arrive. One day at a time 🙏❤️💪

10 yrs ago I met her as a wingman for a buddy hanging out with her friend. We hit it off. Dated. Moved in together. Got engaged. I got cancer and we canceled the wedding. Went through treatment. Got remarried. Have battled recurrences and fear... Together. Love is everything.

Managing a cancer diagnosis is exhausting, and the grind can wear you down. Some days you may just not have much to give. It happens to us all. Account for it. Allow a little compassion, and bounce back as soon as you can. It’s a marathon.

Cancer fighters: Know what to accept and what NOT to accept. I accepted certain realities and limitations. I accepted that my career was basically destroyed while I focused on healing. I did NOT accept— ever, not for a second!!— the less than 10% survival rate I was given.

It’s the tension. When you wake up; when you’re getting ready for bed; when you’re relaxed and then all of a sudden it hits you again. The tension of something major looming, that’s out of your control. And that’s unresolved. Managing that tension is the mental game of cancer.

It's not so much the task itself of scans, blood tests, medical appointments, or dealing with insurance... It's the constant, life-sucking drain it takes on your soul behind the scenes; the anticipation and anxiety that really wears you down after a while.

Fighting cancer takes constant adjustments. Adjusting to scans. Adjusting to emotions and exhaustion. Adjusting to setbacks. That’s what one day at a time really means. You just can’t solve everything overnight. You keep rebalancing and you choose to trust the process.

My scariest moment fighting cancer was after treatment didn’t stop the recurrences. That’s when I realized no doctor or drug would magically make everything go away for me. It was a huge realization because for the first time, I took on 100% ownership of my health that day.

If you’re feeling like you can’t dream or plan a future again after cancer, I’ve been there… And eventually that ability came back. So even if you can’t see the path right now, it helps to know that regaining the feeling of “living” instead of just surviving is possible.

If you’re struggling with cancer, I always found it helpful to look up success stories and focus on people who managed to turn their situation around even in the worst cases… Read what they did, keep that sense of belief going 🙏❤️💪

Hey all! I was diagnosed at 30 with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and have been fighting to overcome a less than 10% survival rate. I started my blog to share the journey as I figure out life after cancer #WorldCancerDayYayOrNay

Looking back on healing from cancer, a make it or break it ingredient was belief that I could survive— and more specifically, belief in the idea that my treatment approach could work. I had to first buy into it being possible in order to really put my heart and soul behind it…

How satisfied are you with your cancer support community? Sometimes I have my guard up because when you put yourself out there you never know what kind of triggering stories or attitudes you’ll run into. At the same time, meeting cancer fighters that I do vibe with is amazing!

My 5 year anniversary was also when I overcame a 5-year, less than 10% survival rate for metastatic bone cancer. It proved daunting statistics don't define us. #thriveaftercancer

Cancer fighters struggling with uncertainty: You don’t have to know today exactly how you’re going to regain your health. You DO have to put blinders on and maintain belief that a solution exists, somewhere. Blind faith may be uncomfortable, but it’s absolutely critical 🙏💪❤️
