they kinda do ! takes abt 4-5 hrs to digest your food (which does burn some of the cals you had eaten) and you also burn anywhere from i think 25-50 (depending on the person) every hr while sleeping, so if you sleep 8+ hrs ur cals kinda reset esp if you burned off b4 sleeping
