I don't think this setup actually achieved fusion and here's why:. Starting with the vacuum pump It seems to be this model from Amazon which claims to be capable of reaching an ultimate pressure of 2E-3 Torr. I think this is an extremely optimistic rating.
over a 36-hour livestream, I built a neutron-producing nuclear fusor in my kitchen using Claude. successfully achieving nuclear fusion, entirely assisted by AI. this was my first hardware project!—full story below

Super excited to announce that I've accepted an internship offer at @VardaSpace on @andrewmccalip 's team this coming summer! . Really looking forward to testing some reentry vehicles and building some really cool stuff.

Yes, I'm sure V3 throttles down to 40% (assuming same range as V2) using no valves or electronics.
This engine is the greatest rocket engine ever built, BECAUSE they got rid of all the electronics and software. Fluid management system? Nope. The shape of the pipes is the fluid management. All of Mech Eng is full of similar opportunities.

I don't think a single thing he's made has ever been used in a war.
This kid created America's deadliest weapons from his garage. Built a billion-dollar company at 21. They called him the 'Steve Jobs of VR'. Today, Facebook, Apple, and US military defense can't live without him. Here's his story and his 5 predictions about AI, war & tech: 🧵

- I cofounded the original Aphelion.- I designed our suborbital rocket but did some on orbital development too.- Did all the solid motor and structures development.- Our COO was embezzling money and eventually stole all our IP, logo, CAD, renders, etc and started another company.

I feel like if you have to take an ethics course to know not to do this kinda shit you maybe should just not be an engineer in the first place.
Location of a debris field by USCG is the latest grim development in this Oceangate story that is sure to be a cautionary tale in engineering classrooms for decades. Engineering ethics is the most important component of any engineering curriculum

@Tippyto43962465 Tbh I wouldn't even necessarily tank Vsauce as a science youtuber but regardless of category he's definitely top 10 for me, and should be for most lists.

maybe because software engineers (an extremely liberal use of the word engineer) take every opportunity to tell us how to do our jobs and constantly act like we're too retarded to actually know what we want or need so we must rely on their god-like intellect as a guiding light.
@robirwinengr Yes ofcourse - but maybe the hardware folks are way too jaded? There’s a YC company making text to cad and all the old timers are hating on it like it’s a scam.

No, the dozens of lawyers that SpaceX pays thousands of dollars an hour failed to realize that a large contingent of government officials including the president elect of the United States were coming to visit until an hour before and then were just like "eh it's probably fine".
Do you think that all these people have the security clearance to stand in the control room with all the ITAR stuff that's going on inside there?

@xFlochx it's almost like developing the most advanced weapons systems in all of human history isn't cheap.
