Honestly if the Discord NFT shit pisses you off, cancel your nitro immediately and select other - cite the CEO's tweet about it as your reasoning why. A loud, immediately public drop in revenue is the only thing that will change it at this point.
Cute little heart tree gpose spot in Yak'tel. @ 24.6, 23.7 location. If you line the trees up real well, it looks like a heart.
They're like two trees that when you angle it just right, it lines up. That's cute!
Remember how Square Enix had this whole cutscene in Stormblood where Lyse lets Fordola out of jail to help fight Lakshmi in the palace and the people she saved are like "We can never forgive you for what you did to us. But we can thank you."
People cannot be for real about acting like Solution 9 doesn't fit in w/ XIV's aesthetic
y'all don't play this game lol
The whole Garlean empire. Ivalice. Omega. Several various aliens. Allagans. Mhach. The Ancients!!!! the entire last act of Endwalker. All of the Bozja story.
I'm watching a WoW player ~reacting~ to XIV fights and his chat is like all WoW players and one of his chatters was like "the entire style of this game is gross"
my brother in Azeroth have you SEEN your game? Mfer looks ripped straight out of 2008 despite 20 years of updates.
Here's something that Big Savage \ Ultimate Raider don't want you to know.
A lot of us still look at our hotbars when we're DPSing. Anyone who says "practice til you can do it without looking" is trying to gaslight gatekeep girlboss you
I can't wait for Dawntrail because there's gonna be so much spicy drama over the new blacklist features. Like imagine you block the weeb police & someone in your static gets Thanos Snapped.
Community pests are in the danger zone.
I'm worried that some people are actually taking Yoshi P & Dawntrail @ face value when it gets presented to us as a Summer Vacation
we all know that we're about to behold manmade horrors beyond our comprehension. By level 96 we're gonna be crying and throwing up.
There's a thread from someone who played BG3 but doesn't know anything about D&D and one of the questions they asked is "Is the typical length of a single D&D game 100+ hours? Do you just save game by leaving everything on the table untouched?"
WHICH IS THE CUTEST QUESTION lmfao
Finding out how much gil FC owners are actually pulling in from submarines is like finding out about what people are doing on Wall Street (a joke I am shamelessly stealing)
I knew people made money I don't think I was quite aware of like. How much weekly you can actually pull in
bro
you know that all of the FF voice actors after the Zenos cameo thing got a call like "dude you won't believe how unhinged they all are you're gonna make so much money" and that's why they're all on cameo now
good for them.
You know how there's all these people that joined FFXIV in Shadowbringers so they have no context for old stuff?
Can't wait to show summoners who start in Endwalker stuff like this
One of Athena's voice lines is "This is but a glimpse of a God's strength" which reflect's Lahabrea's "Behold but a sliver of my god's power!"
- But now we know The Heart of Sabik / Ultima has nothing to do with Zodiark which means "my god's power" is referring to his wife.
I leveled my warrior to 100 yesterday and I pinpointed what it is about "tanks soloing bosses" that makes me so angry, I think.
It's that they never use their tools to keep the party alive either. They just let everyone die and it extends the time it takes to do things.
This bit of interview re: Ult content is honestly the kind of thing I like to read.
Yoshi-P's team -asked- him if they could crunch to finish the content in time and he did not let them do it because he did not want to overwork his employees to finish content.
One thing that is driving me up the wall are the "XIV is doing so well because WoW sucks" and "XIV is doing so well only after the free trial" as if Shadowbringers wasn't a smash critical hit across the board before any of this even happened.
My harshest XIV take rn is that FFXIV did Rogues & Ninjas dirty by making them the same thing. They could not be more tonally different between the class & the job if they tried.
Dear Square Enix,
Whatever you do, do not put dyeable AF gear locked behind a random EX trial in the middle of the Relic series in Endwalker.
Thanks,
literally everyone.
I think as MMO player for 17-18 years, a lesson I had to learn is that there's a difference between "There's nothing to do in this game" and "There's nothing I WANT to do in this game."
It's an extremely big difference and the sooner you learn it, the better your experience is.
I understood this sentiment when he first took over but honestly, don't let them bait you into paying for Twitter. What have they done that suggests that spending money on this app will improve things for you? Look at the For You page: it's riddled with nonsense constantly.
Whelp.. if your favorite artists have to get Twitter Blue, please don’t give them a hard time. Many of us rely on our followers being able to actually see our posts and I know many of us would not be able to keep doing what we do if our reach keeps getting suppressed even more.
Say what you will about Eden as a raid tier but I don't actually think they're ever gonna top a raid tier where the entire concept is "The warrior of light has brain damage and can't stop making primals sexy" thanks Nomura.
The Worldsoul Saga is an epic storyline will play out over the next few WoW expansions: The War Within, Midnight, The Last Titan.
#Warcraft
#BlizzCon23
Remember in Shadowbringers where the little baby catgirl looks directly into the camera and goes I'M GOING TO BECOME A WARRIOR OF LIGHT WHO USES POTIONS TO HELP PEOPLE and everyone thought that was MSQ confirming chemist lol
It's funny when people say that MMOs are a dying genre because "people don't like grinding" when every popular game is a gacha game where it's grind or spend - OR a live service game with the grindiest battlepass you've ever seen.
You can always tell which tanks have been traumatized in the Tower of Zot because they don't want to do the double pulls leading up to the final boss lol
I've really enjoyed that Square decided to up the challenge level for story content. I hope people are being normal about folks who stumble while learning the new mechanics if we want them to keep making cool stuff like this.
ok xiv players.
imagine this.
You get to Amaurot.
You can't understand any of the characters when they speak.
You have to grind a rep for a month or two before you can understand them.
that's just the new wow patch lol
Look not to add to the tank discourse again but I started leveling my WAR again last night and I am reminded of how many tanks have really big egos for playing jobs that you don't have to actually do mechanics on or like, do very much to stay alive on.
tank privilege is real man
So we all agree that we're gonna have a scene in the future where Thancred is in danger and all of a sudden Ryne blasts in with his old gunblade and saves him kinda like from the ShB trailer when he protected her. Right?
The part of me that loves XIV's story hates the idea of new players starting in 6.1.
The part of me that has to tell friends "Oh you just have to play like 1000 hours before you can play this MMO with me" is happy about it. It's kind of a no-win situation imo.
Reading threads about the Rising and someone is like "this event sucks why didn't they fully retune the Binding Coil of Bahamut for current content and re-release the entire raid series and then give us the Phoenix as a reward for that"
it's a level 15 quest dude
I think the Rising events are always really funny when the WoL gets to give advice to aspiring new Adventurers & they're like "I wanna be just like you!!!!"
WoL just here like: I'm just not gonna tell them how it's actually impossible to do what I do.
The part that excites me the most about Solution 9 is that it's one of those "this is the part you're WILLING to show us???????" (kind of like the Zodiark\Hydaelyn are primals reveal from Shadowbringers before it was released).
like. ??? WHAT ELSE IS GONNA HAPPEN BRO.
Lmao ppl are asking FFlogs to remove the kill because "it used third party mods that break the TOS"
My brother in Hydaelyn what do you think FFLogs uses to gather data?
Y'Mhitra Rhul was born the seventh of twelve sisters. At 26 years old, specializes in archaeology and majored in it at the prestigious Studium in Sharlayan. Upon graduating, she joined the Sons of Saint Coinach.
Yoshi P being like "Hey. Do y'all know all of the names of the Convocation seats? :) :)" to the question about what content people should complete before Dawntrail has me cackling @ how adamant people have been about the 8man raid art not having anything to do with Ascians lol
Apparently YoshiP went to a JP server today and did a very brief Q&A
"Q: I really liked Eureka and Bozja, really looking forward to the new big field content in DT
A: Thank youuuu, please look forward to it!"
While I -am- glad that Square Enix is fixing Crystal Tower ilvl cheesing in the upcoming patch, I do think it's gonna be funny when it's still the only one most people get in alliance roulette because it's the only mandatory raid series that you have to do for MSQ.
#EndwalkerSpoilers
genuinely love how literally EVERYONE in Elpis drives home the fact that Azem is just fucking WEIRD. Like really good at what they do but also WEIRD AS HELL.
One of my favorite things to do in FFXIV is just absolutely melting an expert dungeon. Like you know those runs that are like 10 minutes start to finish for no reason just because everyone is pumping? Those are fun as hell.
I forget about how every time you tweet about Stormblood you get randos popping in to tell you how much they hate Stormblood.
We get it. You don't have any friends. Leave me alone.
Man used to be a time where ppl playing through XIV the first time was something folks respected by making sure you don't spoil things for them. Now I see people posting Endwalker screenshots in the mentions of someone still doing Stormblood.
Embarrassing behavior.
Honestly I'm thankful that XIV devs move so slow to change literally anything about the game because it seems like every MMO has basically moved to a seasonal model for all its content & I'd rather just not play video games than have XIV chase that trend lol
I actually think the most heinous people in FFXIV are the ones who own entire housing wards. Like they're just genuinely bad people IRL. Not just "hee hoo what a jerk" like. Genuine, awful human beings. Some of them are outright upfront about it, others pretend ~it's a service~
I hope Sena gets every good thing ever because Wuk Lamat is such a joy of a character & her performance really sold it. I'm really looking forward to her arc in Dawntrail. There's so much potential for this character just from the little snippet we got yesterday.
(okay NOW I can announce it hehe)
I am so so so honored to be the voice of Wuk Lamat in FINAL FANTASY XIV!
I cannot thank
@FF_XIV_EN
@SquareEnix
@SideGlobal
@AtlasTalent
enough for the the dream role of my life.
I'll see you in Tural! 🦁
Sometimes I think I'm a really toxic healer in XIV. I won't go out of my way to top people off. I'll either let regens top you up or passively heal you up if no big hits are coming & if you die because you stood in a telegraph @ not full health, that's your fault.
Which kickstarted Fordola's atonement and path down "making good choices and not being evil." Proving that even some of the most heinous crimes do not have to be the end of someone's life and that they can still do good in the world even if they can never repair the harm.
Honestly I think the best thing any FFXIV player can do to really have perspective on what actual bad game design looks like is invent a time machine and go back in time to make sure you play WoW for 18+ years to really get a feel for what it looks like when the devs hate you.
The major thing I would like them to bring back to FFXIV is job quests lol role quests just ain't cuttin it for me. Give me my job quest homies. Let me go hang out with Curious Gorge.
I wish that SE would add new items from the achievement certificates guy. I keep earning them but it doesn't feel like anything new has been added in years. Feels like that could be a cool way to offer some type of progression: things that cost a lot of achievement certs.
anyways one thing that I do just genuinely hate about FFXIV raiding culture and this has been true for as long as I've been doing it: literally nobody likes to talk about what went wrong.
You wipe 10 times in the same spot? Just pull again and hope the person messing up knows.
FFXIV doomer opinions are so funny they'll be like "the game is DEAD I don't know ANYONE who plays anymore I don't even know WHO the game is for who plays this nobody plays this"
like damn bro that sucks most people I know are still playing you should meet more ppl.
Personally speaking, if my friend was catching heat for bringing COVID to Fanfest, I would keep my mouth shut if I was the guy from his comic who got caught trying to sneak into fanfest & had to be thrown out
Honestly that whole friend group could learn that shutting up is good
The pivot from "Criterion Savage is USELESS they need to make it WORTHWHILE" to "ACTUALLY THESE WEAPONS SHOULD BE FROM CRITERION NORMAL!!! GET RID OF SAVAGE 2 HARD!!!" is so funny SO FUNNY
xiv players get bent lmao
I'm thankful that when I get the final Endwalker trial, sometimes I'm in groups that will agree to sandbag their damage so the new people can see the whole fight lol
