Self-taught Software Engineer III @ some company. 🫡 | I am in love with and talk about technology, space, animals, video games, personal growth and investing.
Developers,
If you are still learning programming, or already getting ready for interviews then you should learn Data Structures & Algorithms. They can be intimidating but if you take the time and practice every day they're not that bad. Below I'm sharing a really good resource:
Are you a recent college graduate or a self taught programmer looking for a job but can't get one?
I recommend applying for apprenticeships. It's easier to get one and the benefits of them are sometimes even better than getting a job. Here are some that I recently found:
@mcgillmd921
He’s a professor from the university of Michigan and this video has 3 million views. This is how I learned python and I think it’s one of the best courses out there.
Yo, I’d like to share that I’ve accepted an offer from
@jpmorgan
to be one of their Software Engineers.
Super excited for this opportunity and will give it my all.
🙏🏻

Yeah but even when they’re playing they can kill you lol. You’re NEVER supposed to give your back to any lions, leopards, tigers etc they will always try to get you from behind
This is a playlist on YouTube from MIT. It has all the videos of every class they had for the semester in 2020.
MIT is the best school for computer science so you know these professors are the best of the best.
@100T_Esports
@Doublelift1
@FLYprince0405
:( woah, the respect some of the Koreans adcs have for doublelift is insane. Just goes to show how good he really is that they hold him up there.
Thanks Java. 💯
This is the beginning of a new chapter. I’m rewriting what was supposed to be my book. I completely changed my life and I’m ready to start this new one. 👊🏽
This is the course itself, if has a link to the playlist I just shared above, but also links to the notes, books used in the class, tests, everything.
I really hope someone uses it because this can make anyone good at DSA.

Whatever your comment meant is disrespectful. I’m a self taught software engineer at Microsoft. Every self taught can get to where you are with enough drive. Education is a joke
Today I signed the offer letter for my new job! Back as a Software Engineer baby! Also, I will finally be able to leave California which has been something I have wanted for so long lol! 😺
@DeniTechh
Why you asking this? Programming is and will continue to grow even with AI. The difference is in what programmers do, for now I think it’s safe to say that the best fields are data science and cyber sec. I think making websites is a no no with AI
@Adronix2021
@2020BestFights
it was a 1v1 and both were hitting each other, why stop it? They were probably arguing about something by looking at the video so let them go at it.
@DeniTechh
NO! IF YOU'RE A PROGRAMMER YOU SHOULD KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS, EVERY PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE, EVERY ALGORITHM, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CODE EVEN WITHOUT A COMPUTER SDGAJKHFGDJK

@mluviorrrr
No apologies needed. One black person being this way doesn’t define the rest of you all. I have met plenty of amazing black folks and plenty of bad ones and the same with any other race.
Microsoft Leap Apprenticeship
This is the Microsoft Apprenticeship I got. It's mostly aimed at people that came from other industries and/or didn't go to college / dropped out.

Although I agree with this persons comment and it would be good if you upgrade, I don’t think you should. 16gb is still the default most computers come with and it should be enough to play league. Try to reach out to customer support to see what’s going on
YO!
So, I was selected to get an interview with my org at Microsoft. The apprenticeship does not guarantee you to stay at Microsoft after it, but the interview is basically a yes, as long as I pass it, I should be able to stay.
Please send your luck my way! I'll need it :p

No one wants war but the politicians etc. Most people in every country want other countries to be fine and or don’t give about about others countries.
I get emails like this every week. There is no excuse to not learn programming if you really want to. You don't need to pay a single dollar thanks to platforms like
@freeCodeCamp
. If you want to change your life, do it.
Yesterday, I was able to pay off $5k in debt just like that because of my current job. It finally hit me that I'm where I've been wanting to be for the past 3 years or so. Time to go for new heights and more ambitious goals.
Let's get this bread. Last day studying for my google interview. I'm taking the weekend off to rest my mind. I of course want to pass the interview but if I don't it's totally fine. Not gonna die for it.
@meepmeep1024901
@ClownWorld_
exactly! I worked there years, wanted more money and so I left and got a job that pays me more. Takes work but anybody can do it
I will do anything in order to achieve my goals. I just recently achieved a pretty big goal and I’m already thinking of the next one. I’m never going to stop growing, never gonna stop dreaming until I die 👊🏽
Something I sometimes don’t think about is how lucky I am. I’ve been with my girlfriend for almost 3 years now and she believed in me becoming a programmer. For almost a year I didn’t work and I was just studying and I owe my gf a lot for helping me all that time. Thank you J.
Idk, to be honest, LinkedIn got me my current job. I was able to connect with some recruiters that helped me land this opportunity and none of them use Twitter professionally so 💁♂️
Google Apprenticeships
Similar as the one from Microsoft but I think they prefer people with a bit of formal education (Don't quote me on that though)

I can tell you think that way because of your generation. My generation is different. We now have internet where you can find any piece of information and consume it if you wish. Being a self taught is having the discipline to learn something without someone telling me to do so.
This is the program that got me into the industry. It’s the program that taught me what it’s like to actually be a Software Engineer.
They’re going to have a new cohort so go check it out!!
Microsoft Leap is excited to launch its upcoming cohort in the U.S! Our program is committed to the upskilling and re-skilling of non-traditional talent across the globe. Join our webinar tomorrow for application and program information.

I've been applying to a few jobs after finishing my apprenticeship w Microsoft and I've been getting a lot of No's. I swear if I get into Google Ima go crazy. Why is it that the biggest companies give a new programmer like me an opportunity and small companies don't? LOL.
@Codie_Sanchez
Owning one of those places that people rent to have parties and stuff like that. Every weekend they would rent it twice and make about $10,000 lol
For anyone trying to change careers into tech, please DON'T give up. I started learning programming November 2020 and I've finally gotten 1 job offer and 2 interviews coming up.
Trust and enjoy the process. Your time will come. 🥰
Moved here when I was 18, no English, no knowledge of the country or anything like that but I already had big dreams. Dropped out of college, started working making $13 hr, then $15 hr, then $18 hr, then $30 hr and now I'm making over 100k yearly.

I messaged the recruiter I had for Microsoft when I was there (very nice person) about me looking for my next role and if she could help me find something and she responded with a “sure, let’s hop on a call tomorrow” 🥰 hopefully something good comes out of this!
@DThompsonDev
Yup great advice. Not sure about the Java since in my location they prefer C++/C# but everything else is on point. That’s actually the same path I took without Java, I instead went for node/express 💯
@scrumtuous
Yup, tripled my income in the year and a half it took me to learn and get a job. Spent no more than $100 in some courses and books, could have definitely done it without spending a single cent.
Want to do a video or blog about my career as a SWE so far. From the moment I made the decision to finally become a programmer (after dabbling around it for many years) and now that I have finally secured a job. All without college or any bs bootcamp. Not sure which one tho.

Bruh what you talking about? It’s his second game lmao. It’s not like he’s played 20 games already and in all of those games he played the same champ. Relax kid
I’m going to become the best version of myself; I want to be the strongest I can become, the smartest I can become, the most successful mf I can become and I will do anything for it. My days are becoming better and better and it’s all cuz I’m focusing on that only. ✅🔥
@LSXYZ9
The best way to learn anything, especially a language, is by practicing it. I would recommend taking a few weeks off and try not to speak any English , only Korean. People that do that, learn new languages in like 3-4 months.
