That was probably Salah’s best cameo ever. Literally didn’t perform an action incorrectly and totally deaded the game amidst some worrying West Ham attacking. He hasn’t looked this complete since 21/22.

I swear to God, Twitter will tell you 21/22 Salah went like 15+ games with no goals. He had a brace against United, a game-tying assist at the Etihad, late winners vs Norwich, Wolves, crucial away goal at the San Siro, 2 assists in the CL semis, it goes on. All after AFCON.

What does my head in about ‘Salah run-in’ discourse is they change the criteria every year. In 21/22 it was the pen against Leicester in DECEMBER that lost us the league. Last szn, he scored + gave Trent a sitter in Dec against Arsenal (a six-pointer) and nobody bats an eye.

It is quite literally undeniable that whatever system Slot has Salah in is making him more effective on the wing. It’s maximising his 1v1 opportunities close to goal, not double-marked close to the halfway line, and that’s why he looks like his 2017-2020 self again.

Yeah, first and last thing I’ll say on Mo today is that no player has ever been held to higher standards. Only guy in Prem history who has to score in 38/38 games to have had a truly great season. He sucked today but best believe I’m blaming Nunez and Jones over him.

I think this is my most hated ‘miss’ of the Klopp era. I’d actually have forgiven him if he just booted it at Onana’s face but it’s the way his ‘shot’ isn’t anything at all, not even a cutback. Probably the moment I realised just how braindead he is.
