Elderly lady called yesterday as she had lost her lighting. I called round and it was a non latching Mcb so quick tap and it’s fixed. She said how much do we owe you ? I said just give £10 your favourite charity. I hope other good trades do the same and look after our elderly 👍

Replaced the 2.5mm cable feeding the 9.5kw shower with 10mm also found out it was feeding sockets and lights

Today’s finding! Socket next to a child’s bed No earth! Note the live was connected to the earth. Would of had an electric shock if I hadn’t used a insulated screwdriver.
Also wired in 1.5mm but this means nothing compared to the connections.

Fundamentally it doesn’t need a rewire but with the lack of sockets, lights etc it makes sense.

Just had a callout.The intruder alarm isn’t working! They have just spent £250k on an extension and the problem would be the so called sparks has put the movement detectors above the ceiling.😡
