a thread on whitney houston’s musical & non-musical intelligence and overall creative process that way too many people don’t give her credit for because according to y’all, “she can’t do anything else besides sing.”
Taylor Swift's 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT' joins Whitney Houston's 'Whitney' as the only female albums in history to spend their first eight weeks of release at

on the Billboard 200.
it’s hard watching this interview knowing it was just 3 months before she passed. that glow was finally starting to come back.. she looked so beautiful & at peace
i hate when i talk about how much these 2 look alike and somebody says “well yeah they’re siblings” LIKE BO BITCH THESE ARE IDENTICAL TWINS 8 YEARS APART!!!
happy heavenly birthday to the one and only ms. whitney houston, on what would’ve been her 61st birthday. she left behind an untouchable legacy. through her music, her voice, whitney’s soul still lives on & is always with us. we love you dearly nippy, keep on resting 🕊️
once whitney entered that studio, she did whatever she wanted, what SHE felt was right. her ability to arrange music in her head right on the spot, solely from hearing a simple demo, and turn it into the most beautiful & emotionally captivating art is just amazing.
the comparison between these 2 clips is so funny cuz you can definitely tell that they told her to show some more emotion for the final result 😭 her ass wanted to go home
i’m glad jennifer acknowledged the type of person whitney truly was but how insecure do you gotta be to cuss somebody out for covering one of your songs in a live performance. whitney never claimed it as her own
to begin, whitney undeniably had an incredible ear. every writer & producer that worked with her have all stated that she would hear things when it came to arrangements & add-ons that they didn’t always hear. she would take a whole different approach to a song than what was asked
even just watching her live performances, you can tell how intimately she understood her craft. all down to the way she controls her band & backing vocals, along with her constant improvisation. she truly knew how to capture an audience
whitney houston declining the offer of getting a star on the hollywood walk of fame cuz she didn’t like the idea of ppl stepping on her name is very iconic behavior to me
mj in ‘88 and then mariah in ‘96. grammys basically said “fuck y’all we only want you here for views”. they had multiple nominations and went home with nothing, despite both albums reaching the

for each of those years
