Spot on 🎯 Universal tariffs are the most eloquent solution to broadly reindustrialize the U.S., create jobs, and generate revenue—all while negating China’s transshipment, circumvention, and trade fraud.
I’m sure this will annoy everyone but if you’re going to tariff Chinese imports of product x but not hit product x when imported from every other country then you’re just enabling tariff circumvention. Either do it or not, seems kind of like the argument

Good points below about pursuing tariffs for domestic production and revenue vs tariffs for “reciprocity.”
Kudos to @realDonaldTrump that merely his campaign and statements have gotten the EU to offer a reciprocal tariff on 🚗. For decades, EU has had a 10% tariff on cars, while we charged just 2.5%. Here's the thing though... reciprocity in terms of "market access" is worthless. 🇺🇸🚗 face 0% tariff in Mexico, Korea, and Japan, and yet despite 'reciprocity', we have a respective 20:1, 11:1, and 75:1 deficit in car trade with those countries! This is why defending the home market needs to be the goal. The founders wanted tariffs for revenue and protection. Not reciprocity.
