Jayden Taylor hasn’t gotten as much love as anybody else during this run, but he’s hit as many huge shots as anybody. The 3 in OT to make it 75-70 was the shot of the game
Payton Wilson is the defining player of the Doeren era. Highest ranked recruit he’s landed, epic flip from UNC and had 2 season ending injuries yet still exceeded expectations. Heart and soul of the program. Unforgettable player
Brody Barnhardt: “I like all the coaches at UNC a ton, but as school, they are more wine and cheese type people and I like rowdy people like NC State… If you go to a NC State game, it is going to be way louder and crazy than a UNC game if both at home.”
Mo Diarra was the 9th man, not even really in the rotation, at Missouri last year. Missouri went 0-18 in the SEC this year. An unbelievable scouting find. He’s the biggest reason for the defensive turnaround in postseason play
High stakes game Sunday. State needs it for perception purposes, UNC needs it to give themselves a shot at NCAAs. It might be the best crowd at PNC since the 2013 game. Please bring these jerseys back
“I feel like I stayed because I’m big on loyalty. They recruited me at the age of 15, they never switched on me or never lied to me about what I could do at NC State.”
I heard State is getting a new video board after this season similar in size to what Clemson got a few weeks ago. Fan experience has improved significantly this year and this is overdue
Logan Whitaker
Graduated HS in ‘18
Didn’t pitch ‘19
Wasn’t on the roster in ‘20 or ‘21(two mystery arm injuries… TJ?)
Friday starter ‘22 and ‘23
Missed over a month due to rare illness in ‘24
3 NCAA starts: 2.45 ERA in 14.2 innings, 3-0
I will not look ahead to the sweet 16.
I will not look ahead to the sweet 16.
I will not look ahead to the sweet 16.
I will not look ahead to the sweet 16.
(Please stay in the red vs Oakland)
Payton Wilson during his recruitment: They care about football at State. They don't just go to watch until basketball season.
Here’s what IC thinks of him:
Anderson: held off UGA
Paylor: epic comeback to beat SC
Groves: flip from Kentucky
Jackson: flip from UNC
Bailey: held off Miami
Martin: beat WVU for West Virginia kid
Barnhardt/Terrell: h2h wins vs UNC
3 blue chips
1 consensus 4 star
9 with at least one 4 star rating
If you don’t follow recruiting you may not get the Noah Rogers hype.
Highest ranked commit on 247 since 2010
Major priority for OSU, WR factory
Could’ve gone to any school in the country (PW only other player in Doeren era)
He’s the best prospect State has landed in 15+ years
Pour one out for Matt Willadsen. 5 years at State, weekend starter for 3 and would’ve been again this year. Best pitcher over the course of that time: 4.43 ERA in 260 innings, 80+ from ‘21-‘23. Doesn’t pitch in two trips to Omaha.
It’s surreal and unprecedented what we’ve seen from MJ Morris the last two weeks. He’s single-handedly revived a dormant offense, pulled the season back from the brink of disaster and completely changed the complexion of the program moving forward in 80 minutes of football
State offered Smith 9/29/18. Only two other offers were ever reported: ECU and High Point. He committed in Feb 19, was not ranked until Fall of 19, broke into top 100 in Dec 20. Finished 99th in the composite, On3 had him highest at 69. Legendary talent eval from Keatts
Mack Brown calls out NC State coach Dave Doeren for calling UNC "a piece of shit" after rivalry game at end of the season. Mack says it was "classless." Says he's "never heard something like that before."
Zeke Correll played every year he was at ND and was full time starter the last 2 years. Projected as a day 2 NFL draft pick out of HS. Had portal interest from Michigan, Ohio State, Kentucky, Arkansas
UNC trolled NC State in 2020 by getting Josh Downs an easy TD in garbage time. Since then vs State? 14 catches for 125 and no TDs, 2 of his 5 worst games the last two years. Outplayed by Emezie last year (5/122/2) and Devin Carter (6/130/1) this year.
None of this matter anymore but very proud of the showing. UNC had to have it: a quad one game at home against a team missing two starters and then knock the best player out of the game. State is the better team, get them in Raleigh
NC State has a program that’s easy to be proud of. Players love it, rep the school well, win most games, nationally relevant every year. Winning this week gives State a chance to compete at an elite level this year and change the complexion of the program moving forward
Paul McNeil has a composite rating of .9891, currently the 9th highest rated NC State commit during the internet era, in between Cat Barber and Lorenzo Brown
Keatts on Duke: You’re supposed to be good, you’re supposed to be an all-American, your team is supposed to be top 10 in the country. We don’t give a fuck.
On UNC: We’re about to get into a ring with guys who are supposed to be good. I don’t think so.
That second half was the best stretch of basketball since Joiner went nuclear in the second half vs UNC last year.
This will also be the first time Keatts has won back to back games in the ACC or NCAA tournament
2024 schedule

Stanford
Syracuse

I had been on the fence about whether State should “go for it” next year, but you have to with that schedule. I expect the over under to be at 8. 10-2 would be in discussion for championship game and top 12
I’m still in disbelief that the team we saw six weeks ago against Duke is the same team we saw last night. Less of a coaching clinic and more of a miracle. It sucks the season has to end.
I know like 40% of people on State twitter who don’t follow recruiting are so sick of hearing about Noah Rogers. You’ll see what it’s all about soon enough
Tim Beck on 99.9 The Fan on the QB injuries: Learned Leary was out on Tuesday, had 2 days to get a QB ready for Cuse then were able to get Morris ready during bye. Morris got hurt vs Wake and reinjured vs BC. Finley was on scout team “didn’t even know what we were running”
KC was the top skill player on the field in each of the last 5 games
Clemson: 7/134/2
Miami: 11/83
Wake: 8/105
VT: 16/107/2
UNC was his masterpiece, outdueling their vaunted skill players. 11/55 on the ground (Hampton 9/28). 7/131/2 in the air (Walker 2/29/1, Copenhaver 5/64/1)
State favored by 6 tonight. This is likely the least important game left in terms of the NCAA tourney, but the ACC is wide open right now; State has as good a chance as anybody to finish in the top 4 of the conference. Can’t give away any games if that’s going to happen
