Awesome moment: Kobe's final season. Wade interrupts his presser after a Heat-Lakers game. "We gotta go" 😂 They had dinner plans, start joking. Then Kobe praises Wade's competitive 🔥:
"I love him. He was a vicious competitor. He's vicious, he's mean. We could have those type
The UST players went to Sorsogon in June for a “bubble”
Lately the players were “drained” mentally being away from their families, esp during a pandemic
CJ spoke up for the team and was eventually taken off
He returned to Manila and wasn’t the only Tiger to do so
Kendrick Nunn: 2 years, $10.5M
Duncan Robinson: 5 years, $90M
Caleb Martin: 3 years, $20M (and another payday coming soon)
Gabe Vincent: 3 years, $33M
Max Strus: 4 years, $63M
All these guys were undrafted, forgotten, & casted out. They came to Miami. Improved their game.
Dwyane Wade to Malika Andrews on Pat Riley calling him the greatest Miami Heat player ever:
"He's right. I played there for almost 15 years. I put on for that city and I gave everything to the community, I gave everything to the game, I sacrificed everything that I could to make
Tonight, he became a legend. People who watched this game will forever remember that night Jordan Clarkson put an entire country on his back and gave them a moment to remember for a lifetime. Props, JC. The man in the arena.
Austin Reaves on the wild reception from the fans:
I kinda saw it coming. I was talking to Phil Handy & he was telling me they love the Lakers out here. It's special for me. I'm a super small town. Not a lot expected me to be here, repping USA, so for 'em to accept me means a
"I believe that with all my heart, that we, I, will win a 🏆 for the Miami Heat because I don't plan on playing for another NBA team after the Miami Heat...
I'll be better, we'll all be better as a unit, and then the next time I'm talking to ya'll here, I'll be a one-time NBA
The Heat screwed around the entire regular season and stole home court in round one against the top seed in the entire league for two straight playoffs.
As an 8 seed.
LMAO. Absurd.
Cansino's rookie season ended with an ACL tear against a UP team that made the finals.
His sophomore season ended with him playing a role in helping UST eliminate UP to get to the finals.
The next time he's in the UAAP, he'll be wearing Maroon.
Some of the players thanked CJ for speaking up afterterwards
I’ve heard some managers of the team are not happy with the boys wanting to go home after what they’ve spent to keep the program working lately
UP, DLSU, ADMU, ADU, SBU, Letran in pursuit. Meetings soon.
The UP Pep Squad plays Ateneo’s chant here at the UP Bonfire. According to a pep squad member, it was a tribute. Both teams played an exceptional 3-game series.
Brook Lopez is an unrestricted free agent this summer.
THAT is a guy Miami NEEDS to pursue.
Finals Ls to Lakers/Nuggets highlighted Miami's size issues.
He'd be a great fit with Bam & Jimmy

, nothing more I can say. What an amazing player on and off the court. A true champion and MVP, not to mention a once of a kind type of player. DLSU history will never forget him.
Dame gave 11 years to Portland
They failed to put a title contending roster around him despite his patience
He finally asks for a trade. Gives the team he wants to go to. Within his right to do so
Not only does Portland not tell Miami what it will take to get this done… but
Kevin Durant. Donovan Mitchell. Bradley Beal. Damian Lillard.
What do all these guys have in common?
When they wanted to be traded, Miami was a preferred destination for each one of them.
That's not just because of weather or state taxes or South Beach.
That's the result of
One of the greatest 1-year flings in Miami Heat history. The amount of respect & admiration Heat fans built for PJ Tucker in such a short amount of time was quite incredible, and for good reason - he was essential to their success.
Go thrive, PJ
Jayson Tatum throws shots at the Miami Heat
Scalabrine: “You guys have been on a lot of hard-fought trips to Miami, was this one a little sweeter?”
Tatum: “They’re always easy.” 👀

Wow. Nikki Spo, Heat HC Erik Spoelstra's wife, shared on Instagram that their son battled Burkitt Lymphoma
Thankfully he powered through chemotherapy & the mass is in remission 🙏
Incredible courage by the young boy, Nikki, & Erik, for staying focused throughout the Playoffs
Clarkson on continuing to play for PH:
30 is the new 20. I still feel young. I'll still compete. I don't think this is my last performance in this jersey. I can still compete. I can still hoop.
Hopefully when that time comes (next World Cup), I can represent this country.
This is wild. So wild.
Imagine: back in 2014, a lifetime ago, UP celebrated one single win with a bonfire. One. They didn't have a team bus. Players took the jeep to the games. Their post-game meals were mentos candies.
What a journey. Nowhere to go but UP indeed.
@ntgbUP
Everything about that championship run was epic. No UAAP for years. The elimination finale win. The Final 4 comeback. The first overtime victory. The second OT win. The game winner. The big shots. The heroic moments. The spectacular plays. Words can’t do it justice. Beautiful.
The Bam and Jimmy-led core of the Miami Heat have won 37 Playoff wins since 2020 - the MOST in the NBA in that timespan.
They are also the ONLY team in the NBA to make the NBA Finals 2x since 2020.
Legendary duo for the franchise.
THE UP FIGHTING MAROONS ARE UAAP CHAMPIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1986. JD CAGULANGAN WITH THE GAME WINNER OF A LIFETIME. UP DID IT. UP FINALLY DID IT.
Gilas loses to Brazil as the Paris dream ends. Despite the loss, another dream should begin, because after ages, we once again have a Gilas program we BELIEVE can COMPETE & WIN at the highest level. That's what we've wanted for FOREVER now. We have it again. What a blessing. 🇵🇭
And let’s take a second to appreciate what Ateneo did. 3 straight championships. 5 straight Finals. Undefeated for 39 games, more than 3 years. Fought until the very end. Went down like legends do. What a run of a lifetime.
- played a game 18 hours after an emotional upset W
- lethargic start and trailed by 20
- only had to not lose by more than 19
- lost Kai Sotto in the 1st half
- still nearly completed the epic comeback
We've wanted a 🇵🇭 team we believe has what it TAKES to compete. Finally.
Nowhere To Go But UP founder Renan Dalisay shared details about why they filed criminal case against John Amores after their request to JRU to take proactive steps didn't yield results.
Additional context: JRU did not pay for the medical expenses of Mark Belmonte
- The comeback vs. Chicago in the play-in
- Being the best player on the court in G4 vs Milwaukee
- Ending Jrue & the Bucks in G5
- Mind games vs the MSG crowd
- Telling everyone Josh Hart "can't guard me" vs New York
- Securing Playoff payback against the Knicks
- "Jimmy
Baldwin says he can’t believe he’ll wake up tomorrow and no longer be coaching Kouame. “What will I do?” He asked in reflection.
Kouame definitely leaves Ateneo a legend.
Cone calls this one of the best nights of his coaching career.
"I grew up in the PH, been there since I was 9. People know that, I'm basically Filipino - although I have brown hair & green eyes."
Pictures can truly be worth a thousand words.
I hope Evan Nelle comes back next season, with another opportunity to add a photo that's different from the ones he's had to end season so far.

Because I knew from the night before how distraught they were after the loss and the pressure they knew they’d face. I asked the Q because I knew I had to as part of my job, but I also knew wanted to empathise with him as a person. Just my preference.
There will be questions raised if the players were going through 5-5 training and if the guidelines the team implemented were in line with IATF regulations.

This was Tyler Tio after last night's epic G2. Tears in his eyes. Emotions on display.
"I cried just cause I was relieved it wasn’t my last game yet. I really want this chip" he said was the reason.
Tyler can leave Ateneo with another championship tomorrow.

Jimmy Butler. Validated.
Bam Adebayo. Breakout superstar.
Tyler Herro. Boy Wonder.
Iggy. Back to the finals.
Dragic. No one deserves this more than him.
Crowder, Robinson, Olynyk, DJJ, Hill. Culture.
Spo. Best coach in the NBA.
I love it.
Incredible moment. Despite being injured, Zavier Lucero comes in with 0.7 seconds left to take a technical free throw and is cheered on by both crowds. 🙏🏻
"I'm going back to Miami, work on my game, pick up my conditioning... [I] want to be in the best shape of my life so that I can go into those 82 games & not be tired/fatigued."
"I just came ready to be a dog, defend, & help this team get wins."
Looking back at the most incredible gem in the Heat's run: Jimmy Butler's Game 4 masterpiece:
56 points, 19/28 FGs, 3/8 3PT, 15/18 FTs, 9 rebounds, 2 assists.
Just spectacular.
- "first quarter for the ages": had 22 (most he's scored in a quarter) of Miami's 28 points

My respect level for Jimmy Butler went up even more this playoff run.
How the hell he dragged this team to 2 NBA Finals appearances and a Game 7 in the ECF, I have no idea.
Appreciate the hell out of that man. Should be in the Hall of Fame.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. is going to be an All-Star. He's the Heat's 2nd most important player moving forward next to Bam Adebayo. He's the successor to Jimmy Butler. Everything about him oozes Heat culture. He's fearless. He's got GUTS. HE. IS. SPECIAL.
Tim Cone agrees that going zone changed the game for Gilas, even if he isn't a huge fan of going zone.
Says Gilas hadn't practiced it at all, ever, since getting together.
Wow.
