we carried out a thorough investigation into damage to the River Lugg.
We welcome today’s sentence and hope this is a stark warning to others that we will take the strongest action to uphold protections for our wildlife.
Today, landowner John Price was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment for the destruction of 1.5km of the protected River Lugg.

We are currently working with local police to investigate a missing hen harrier in the Yorkshire area. Raptor persecution, including of hen harriers, is a national wildlife crime priority. We would urge anyone witnessing or suspecting persecution to contact the police.

in north east England, linking South Bents to Amble. The route will take you past miles of beaches with clean bathing water, and closer to nature at the coast.

brood is one of the most clear-cut and brutal cases of raptor persecution we’ve seen. We urge anyone with information to contact North Yorkshire Police and call on landowners and land managers to help police put an end to illegal persecution.
