Our country doesn’t just need more Democrats in Washington – we need bolder ones.
I’m running for Congress in

to bring progressive and honest leadership to the frontlines of our country’s most important fights.
I just watched the NY Attorney General debate. To me, Zephyr Teachout stood out (from a talented group!) as having the clearest and most comprehensive plan for what to do with the office of the AG.
She’s also totally fearless, which I think is important in elected officials.
If you are hard working but feel stuck in your job/career, look into
@LambdaSchool
, a remote program that teaches you to be a software engineer - at no cost, unless/until you get a $50K salary job.
(I have no ties to Lambda, just feel obligated to point people to opportunity.)
You cannot watch this video and not know in your soul we have a huge problem. It’s despicable. It’s unreal.
@NYGovCuomo
what is your plan for the police depts of our state?
Multiple SCOTUS justices lied about their views under oath, and now over turned Roe — a direct assault on women, women’s rights, and healthcare.
This SCOTUS will soon overturn other long-standing rights, so if you are not yet paying attention, now is the time to wake up.

will actually fight for them where it counts (passing laws), not just pretend to when convenient (making twitter videos). We need fresh ideas and energy in the fight to protect labor & build strength in the movement. Klein’s shown his word means nothing.
Neither political party has a compelling vision of the Good Life for Americans. We really need it.
Whichever wakes up gets their first will be in power for decades.

Just FYI that frozen veggies doesn’t always mean bad. Some frozen retain more nutrients than veggies in transit / sitting on shelf for 10 days.
Amen to no processed foods!
An implicit ‘vision’ of inviting you to work yourself to death for decades to maybe then get to retire in a society that looks like who knows what - this is not compelling.
But this is what both parties are offering.
If you’ve been following COVID19 & sort of waiting to see what happens... now is the time to significantly adjust remaining MAR + APR plans. No gatherings of more than a few people. All work digital-first. Keep economic activity going + temporarily eliminate socializing IRL.
2020 is not going to relent. This year is playing modern life on hard mode, with no end in sight.
We’ve got a long-standing societal/moral fight on our hands, and the science/virus siege is still in the first innings.
Not to mention the economic mess.
New daily highs in Covid-19 cases and deaths for India, Brazil, South Africa, and Mexico.
New daily high in Covid-19 cases for ... the world.
Another 20,000+ cases and another 1,000+ dead in the United States.
This is the medical team from Wuhan responsible for recovering 50K+ patients in just a few months. They're now risking their lives again to help out Italy. Rag on China all you want for the mishandlings early on but you can't deny that these people are true selfless heroes.

It’s not too late to be a part of this, if you’re able to get to the Bronx tomorrow to volunteer or help out, let me know!
One thing to note about tech people critiquing government.
Government (eg Fed) is not *inherently* incompetent. It depends on who you put in there! Elections matter. Policy matters.
Don’t criticize “government” and give up on it. Put better people in! Work to modernize it.

Intuitively helping each dept head / stakeholder investigate and understand the stories in the numbers, and findings the right levers to change those stories. Making that accessible vs. assuming people can automatically grok financial reports.

Distantly related question: Have you read Jaynes’ Origin of Conciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind? If yes, thoughts? Do you find it compelling/plausible/likely-to-be-true?
My DMs are open for anyone who wants to learn more about recruiting, hiring, team building - especially founders who are building teams and having headaches. Hit me up.
Hawley approval rating in solidly-red Missouri: 36% approve, 49% disapprove.
Just 63% approval (and 21%) disapproval among REPUBLICANS. Via Morning Consult.
Big red flags.
Excited to announce the rollout of Gather For, a new project I'm working on w

Check it out, and sign up to join a support team near you 👍
I can relate to this big time - it’s amazing that this is the first time I’ve heard this named as a key reason people start companies. It makes so much sense on many levels.
1/ Here are some REALLY interesting findings from a controversial empirical paper asking:
*WHY do some people become ENTREPRENEURS?*
Of the many findings + hypotheses, a few stand out
-SIGNALING theory
-REJECTING a system that REJECTS them...
A myth of startup teams is that you want all of your founders to have startup experience. This paper shows teams whose founders have diverse work backgrounds (some people with lots of startup/management experience, some with less) outperform teams where backgrounds are similar.

Am I the only one who feels uninspired by Dems saying our singular goal is to beat Trump? Of course, I want him gone. But where is the vision for this country?
We need to give people something to vote FOR, not just someone to vote against.
This is like politics 101, right?
