And guess what, I *still* can’t afford anything to buy. Clearly what worked for you and your generation is not feasible for the current generation.

I’m sure someone will reply with “what about healthcare?” And guess what, she has 100% employer paid health benefits and better access to medicine than me.

@RE_MarketWatch I don’t think people realize. I just helped my team lead shortlist. For a semi-experienced (wanting 2 years-ish) administrative assistant we had over 1000 applicants. I’ve never seen anything like it. This is for Vancouver - $28 an hour w/benefits.

@sarahblyth @PeterMeiszner My team found 2 individuals huddling for warmth in a broken tent under a tarp. We built them 2 tents and provided many blankets and sleeping bags. Gave them extra tents still in bags in case by law came and took them down. It’s terrible out there right now.

In reality: Safe consumption sites = connecting people to services like detox, treatment, counselling, outreach teams, less of a burden on our first responders and hospitals, and more. Also = less deaths.

@jesse_kleine It’s true. My mom recently moved from Vancouver to Arizona. Her air con. bill was $600usd/ month. But, her rent is only $1200 for a massive house. She was renting a crap box for $2000/month in Van. She says she will never move back! Cost of living is cheaper and her job pays well.

I rented a room in a house for 2 years before I could afford to rent an apartment. Rented several apartments until I could afford to buy a tiny bungalow, then gradually bought a larger house.

Specialists 6 months-1 year to get an appointment. Neurologist, 6 months. I can go on and on about our “free” healthcare.
