11 yrs sober today & one day at a time! I woke to birdsong, took my dog for a walk, then 8am tennis lesson, then breakfast w/my son, soon off to teach a writing workshop. All possible because I made the decision 11 years ago to give up booze, get real, and get after recovery. ❤️

On 9/11, my dad was working across from the Towers. He came home that day covered in toxic dust & developed cancer from that dust, the cancer he died from 19 years later on 8/11/2020. He was part of the 9/11 Victims' Compensation Fund. ❤️😢 I miss him.
